Problem receiving email

I found out from a friend yesterday that the email she sent bounced back to her as undeliverable. My internet connection is working fine so I don't know what the problem might be. I did receive a few other emails yesterday but there are some that I know did not come through. How can I solve this problem?

Yahoo mail accounts are being marked as undeliverable. Mail is not getting through. Their service is just pathetic.

Try to create a test email and send it to your own email address, check the bounce back error message. Make sure that your email space is not full.

How long should an e.mail take to arrive?

http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/28824-how-long-to-receive-an-email
There are sooo many things that can affect the speed
  • Speed off your internet connection
  • Speed off senders internet connection
  • Size of email - lots of text
  • Size of email - lots of attachments
  • Speed of the route - if its coming from aussie compared to next door (even if its next door it will still travel miles)
There is no rough time, we have emails that take anywhere from 1min to 45min, sometimes people moan but with a 20mb dedicated line we have no issues this end its just one of those things.

What will happen if i delete my email account

If someone sends a email to your "deleted account" it will bounce back to the sender with some kind of a undeliverable message, such as "account does not exist" or may be just "undeliverable!". The error message the sender will see depends on wich mail server or service they use.

Is there any way to retrieve an e-mail that I sent but did not save (it came back as undeliverable but my e-mail is gone)

Have you checked your sent folder? If it is not there then check the return e-mail. You might find something there.

Do not get failed delivery meassage

When you get mail from a "MAILER-DAEMON" or a "Mail Delivery Subsystem," with a subject similar to "Failed Delivery," this means that a message which you sent was undeliverable and has been "bounced" back to you. These messages are produced automatically and usually include a reason for the delivery failure. Bounced messages normally consist of two parts. The first contains the reason for the bounce; the second contains your original message.
The most common reason for a failed delivery is that the email address you entered is not valid. If the Mailer Daemon says that the account does not exist, double-check the spelling of the address you entered. A single mis-placed letter can be enough to cause a failed delivery. If the message continues to be bounced back to you, you may want to verify that the account has not been closed or moved.
If there is a different reason given and you would like us to investigate it, If you can copy and paste the reason given for the failed delivery into the message you send us, it will be very helpful as we attempt to determine why your message bounced.

My email are not delivered though yahoo says it has been sent. Any one can help?

hi this is kamal here to help u...

The message was never actually sent. Make sure you actually sent the message by checking in your Sent folder. Is it there? If not, you might not have sent it. Do you remember seeing the "Mail Sent" confirmation page that appears after clicking "Send"? It's a page that confirms your email message has been sent successfully.
The message was saved as a draft. Did you click "Save Draft" by accident? It's the button right next to "Send." Check to see if you saved a draft by clicking your Draft folder.
The message was not addressed properly. You might have accidentally entered a different email address than the one you intended, or entered a typo that actually turns out to be a real email address. Check to see if this happened by looking in your Sent folder. Take a close look at the address information. Did you write something weird?
The message was delayed. Most messages are delivered within a few minutes. But messages can sometimes be delayed while in transit due to heavy Internet traffic or routing problems. This kind of delay can last for several hours or more.
Other possibilities. Occasionally, interruptions or disruptions in email transmissions over the Internet render your message undeliverable. This is very rare, but it does happen. Unfortunately, aside from waiting, there is no way to know for certain whether a message has been delayed or whether it has been rendered undeliverable. The best solution is to re-send your message. You can find it in your Sent folder.

thanx for choosing fixya

Unable to send/rec emails to fellow regular MSN hotmail contact

1. Check if you have an active internet connection
2. Send a test mail yourself and verify you receive the mail
3. sometimes MSN servers may get slowing down... most probably that could be the case... send mail to the other party after an hour
4. Can you send mail to others... I mean other MSN pals, other gmail a/c pals, etc
5. Can you see your friend online on MSN messenger?
