None im sorry to say but the intel pentium m 1.6 is similar to a dual core it is like a 3.2 pentium 4 in a laptop with 2mb cache i have the evo n610c and it is the best processor i found compatible and it does not heat up like the pentium 4 processor does allowing it to be tweaked a little if you max out your ram and know a little about modifying your pc for any more questions or concerns feel free to call main street pc in plymouth nc (my company) google it and i can get the processor and install it for you pretty cheaply

I installed a dual core in my 1300g no problems. I we t against advice and tried a 65w tdp chip for a couple days and it ran a bit hot. A dual core am2 CPU for this machine must be 45w tdp or under. Research the dual core you tried. I'm betting it was too hot or needed to much power. Also the heatsink is crappy too. If you need a better one find a lga 775 heatsink with back plate. They it right in but check for height to fit in your case.
Also somebody else here had the same type of question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090207210838AA922iE
From my experience as long as its not running over 100 then you'll be fine. If you have any doubts about your computer overheating you can always apply more compound to the heatsink and also buy a bigger one where the fan runs faster to keep things cooler inside of the case and always remember to have the side doors on as well.
Intel Core 2 Duo is the latest laptop processor intel has made so it is newer than the original dual core. They have a few different cpu's so depending on your budget choose the core 2 duo with the fastest speed you can afford. Hope this helps & please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.
Core 2 Duo is a Brand name by intel to identify his class of Dual core CPU
a Dual core CPU is basically two CPU in one package, which dramatically improves performance over previous architectures.
Pentium Dual Core is another brand name by Intel to identify his new entry level CPU offer.Basically Pentium dual-core are similar to Core 2 Duos except they(pentiums) are slower and cheaper. they both are dual core CPUs. I would prefer a core 2 Duo having to choose a laptop because of better performance, but the prize is different for the two solutions.
