It would have an internal A/C fuse - no reset button. If you get no reaction at all when you press the power button the A/C fuse is likely blown - but that may not be all - depending on the path the electrical surge took. If you're up to taking the back cover off it may be worth a try. If you do (take the back cover off) post back and I'll try to help.

Hello, My Panasonic ct-36HL44 won't turn on. It's complestely dead. Yesterday and for the last 4 years---its been perfect, completely reliable. What happened? Is there a fuse inside the chassis and can I...

I had the exact same problem with this model a few months ago. Repairman came out to my house and told me that Panasonic is well aware of the problem but never issued a recall on it. He then charged me $150 to take off the back of the tv and replace a blown fuse with another fuse with a slightly higher voltage rating. Took him all of 5 minutes. He took off back of tv and the fuse is located, if you are standing at the back of the tv, on the bottom in the left hand corner. You can't miss it. I wish I could tell you which fuse he put in but I didnt see it. Sorry. Try it for yourself and you might be able to save $149.50, b/c I doubt that fuse cost much more then 50 cents. Good luck.

Panasonic HDTV /no power

the loss of power was do to a blown fuse. could not access it through the small opening near where the power cord went in at the back of set.. carefully took the back of just far enough to access the fuse and replaced it. Working fine.

TV DEAD

On some models the reset is unplugging for a minute or two and plugging back up. Otherwise you have a blown fuse where the power goes in. If you decide to replace the fuse do no go over 5 amps. If the replacement fuse blows there is a short in the set and needs a repairman.

When a fuse pops, no bringing it back. Open the unit and check for dry joints. Be sure to find one there.

There is no external reset, and if the set is completely dead (not even a click when the power button is pressed) then there is probably an open main fuse or defective stand-by power supply. If the main fuse is blown then there is usually a heavy short in the main power supply, and either way the set should be looked at by someone with experience in Mitsubishi sets.
