NAPA DAV 311

Can anybody recommend good mp3 creation settings for the NAPA DAV 311 player
(e.g. use "blade" with the settings 128kbps and the comand line options...
etc)? Its got awful distorted harmonics, but some of the MP3s I've got from
the net don't suffer any distortion.
Also, has anybody tried encoding mp2s and renaming them to mp3 for play on
the NAPA DAV 311? Do they have the same harmonic distortion?

The distorded harmonics is a known problem of the DAV311, I've got the
same player (since yesterday and regret it already!), and there are also a
lot of complaints about it on the forums(I found them when it was too
late).
What are the encoding details of the mp3 file that is playing ok for you ?
It would be great to know at least what MP3 spec are required for the
DAV311 to work fine.
