Question about RCA 25414RE3 Corded Phone
One line of my RCA 25414 phone will not give dial tone and say 'PLUG IN LINE' . I have checked all extensions and checked the cords. All are plugged in properly. Any suggestions?
SOURCE: Phone line/phone jack problem
The wiring on the jacks is set up for a 2 line phone.
If you take the jacks apart, you will see either:
A) red, green, and black, yellow
B)white blue/blue white and white orange/orange white
You need to swap the pairs.
If there are red/green/black/yellow wires. remove the yellow/black and move them to where the red/greens are. Then put the red/green wires, where the yellow/black used to be.
OR, you need to swap the orange and the blue wires.

I just spoke to RCA and they said to unplug power and phone line and take out batteries, wait 5 minutes and plug everything back in, mine now works.

Try punching in the number to call first THEN hit talk.. It should dial and call at that point..
Just like when making a call from your cell phn - dial the # first..
good luck ;o)

Fix for message light blinking on ECA 25414. Many folks have changed phones or bought used phones to find the message light blinking on the phone especially on lines they don't have. That is what I found on used phones. Leave yourself a message on any phone. Now plug that line into the correct jack in the back for the line that is blinking in other words line 1 or 2 or 3 or 4.. Call the number from the line you plugged in and retieve and delete that message. Hang up and shortly the message light on the phone should go out.
