I have the same problem with P4I45GV. I changed the CMOS battery with a new one but still having this wrong CMOS Setting Error. The CMOS Jumper is set correctly (not shorted ). The Cmos Error occurs everytime I turn on my computer from a cold boot.

Just change your CMOS battery with a new one and after that goto the bios settings and update the time and dare.
After that just save the settings and then check that the warning message is coming or not.

If its coming then it means you need to change the CMOS jumper settings.

Reset or Recharge the bois

Hello the homepage is here:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P4i45GV%20R3.0/?cat=Manual

Download the manual, for detailed setup instuctions.

The bios can set to reset by removing the cmos battery on the mainboard and insert it the same way again.

But you have to setup the bios settings, clock, date, boot settings.
The battery can also be renewed, it sometimes rans out of power.
The battery is a cr 2032 3 volts watch type.

Try not to upgrade the bios, unless you 100% sure it`s the right mainboard !!!!!!!!
Flashing the bios with a wrong one, will destroy the mainboard.

Good luck

I have

Really? Wow!

1) Is the spring clip in the CMOS battery holder, weak, or has it been bent?

2) + of battery is facing UP, right? (Positive = + )
Don't know if it would even work in the other direction, but you learn something new everyday.

3) CMOS battery holder soldered tightly to the motherboard?

The motherboard mounts to a Support Plate.
The Support Plate can be part of the computer case, or a separate plate that is mounted to the computer case.

4) Is there dust in-between the Support Plate, and the motherboard?
You know, -> 'dust bunnies'.

If I understand correctly your saying when you exit the cmos, id doesn't save your changes. Make sure when you exit you select the option to save and exit. If that doesn't work, your cmos battery is dead. Look in the mobo manual to find out what replacement battery you need.

Please help me

Hi

Check ASROCK P4i45GV R5.0 User Manual Page 17 - http://download.asrock.com/manual/P4i45GV%20R5.0.pdf

Note: Check Page 11 for the CLRCMOS0 location on the motherboard. From the picture CLRCMOS0 is number 18. You can locate CLRCMOS0 just below the CMOS Cell Battery.

Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord, then use a jumper cap to short the pins on CLRCMOS0 for 3 seconds. Please remember to remove the jumper cap after clearing the CMOS. If you need to clear the CMOS when you just finish updating the BIOS, you must boot up the system first, and then shut it down before you do the clear-CMOS action.

Asrock P4i45gv motherboard problem

it sounds as though your cmos chip is damaged; if you are unable to get as far as the bios when pressing F2 or Del on boot up, then you may need to replace the motherboard. Also reseat your memory as that is another cause and check the Cr2032 cmos disc shaped battery as this may be flat and the original cause of constant reboot cycle. Lastly this also happens if you have changed any hardwre in your pc as windows will not boot if there have been major changes to hardware and windows will have to be repaired using your XPcdrom.

Check cmos error

Read this only if you are sure that you have replaced the correct type of battery & you have set the jumpers to the default locations.

It is not the problem with the battery or the charging problem (Actualy CMOS battery is not Recharable )..in most cases.

The problem is the battery holder in mainboard where we put the battery IN. eventualy or accidently these Pins from the Battery Holder are made loose or not contacted with the battery.i had the same problem and the solution was to adjust the Battery holder to seat the battery in proper way.

May be This helpe
