I opened the box. How do I remove the harddrive from the HP a6700f

I have not personally looked inside this model.

Typically, hard disk drives are held in position in their "BAY" by small phillips head screws, at least 2 and sometimes 4. Some hard drives are on slides with a lock. If this is the case in your particular computer, it will be obvious, there will be a latch that typically says "PUSH" or press or something similar. Depress the latch and slide the drive from its bay.

Warning: Before you do anything, you must know and observe static electricity precutions. Unplug your compute and all that is attached to it. Ground yourself to the metal frame ... maintain some type contact with the frame while you are working on the device.

Disconnect the data cable from the drive by gently pulling on the connector. Disconnect the power cable by gently pulling. Then, remove the screws holding the drive in and then remove the drive.

I hope this answers your question.
