I have a toshiba satellite p755, it use to be able to hook up to my HD TV with the HDMI chord but now its not connecting..whats the problem?

Make sure all connections Power ,HDMI and any other connecting leads have secure dust free connections also check each lead for any kinks / bends .
Connecting a Toshiba Satellite Laptop to a TV is an ideal way to enjoy videos, photos and other media on the laptop on a much larger screen.
Satellite Laptops can be connected to TVs using VGA, S-Video and even HDMI, though the TV has to have compatible inputs as well.

Connect the RGB cable or S-video cable to an open input on the TV.
Depending on the type of TV, it may or may not have a RGB input.
S-video may have to be used instead.
Connect the 1/4 inch to RCA Y-cable into the TV using the same input as the VGA or S-video cable.
Connect the other end of the VGA or S-video cable and the audio cable into the laptop.
The video ports are on the sides of the laptop.
The audio cable should go into the headphone jack of the laptop.

I'd like to connect my toshiba satellite L655 to my tv, but I don't know how. any ideas?

If you have a flat panel TV (LCD or Plasma) then you can connect your laptop using an HDMI cable. Your laptop should have an HDMI port on the side. Buy the cheapest HDMI cable that is long enough (six feet ought to do it). Don't pay more for a "gold" cable, it's a rip-off. With HDMI, video and audio are carried in the same cable. Your laptop should automatically sense the TV set and auto-adjust itself.

If you have an older-style CRT TV then things will get more difficult. Then you'll need a VGA to composite or VGA to S-video. With a converter, you need separate cables for video and audio. Here's one that will work:

Using the converter, you'll have to tell your laptop that you are connecting to an external device.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983 Laptop with Windows 7 and a Philips HDTV flat screen TV. I want to run a cable from the laptop to the TV so I can watch online shows on my TV screen. My TV has an...

The price difference in the cables are what type of metal wire that is in it. One might have copper or even gold plated and the lower price one might have some low end metal. I have not seen any difference. Yes, all you have to do is plug it in and Windows 7 will recognize your TV. You might want to go into the Control Panel and open Sounds and make sure you have the audio turned on for your HDMI connection. Your laptop screen and the TV will be displaying the same.

How can I connect my Toshiba Satellite A305-S6872 laptop to my TV?

Check your notebook for "S-Video / TV out" port that has a 7-pin jack instead of a standard 4-pin S-Video jack. Check your laptop before ordering this adapter.

The newer your computer is, the better chance that it comes with either a RCA Composite or SVIDEO connection. Some notebook computers also have video outputs on them. When buying a new computer always look for the words "TV out" or "video out" in the computer description.

If you only have a VGA connector and don't have an HDTV then your best choice is to buy a newer video card with an S-Video connector. There are other third party solutions out there but the quality is very poor and we do not recommend it.

The VGA port is the connector that's connected to your PC monitor (the TV like device that came with your computer). This connector is usually only usable for VGA Monitors or HDTV setups. If you have an HDTV this will give you the best image possible.

If you have an RCA Composite connector on the back of your computer, then you can use that. You may also need to power down your computer and reboot to be able to get the signal. You need an RCA Composite cable that will be long enough to reach from your computer to your PC. Connect the cable to the back of the computer to the back of your TV SET.

S-Video is superior to that of RCA Composite and will give you a clearer picture. If you have a fairly new TV you should have this connector in the back. You will need to buy an S-VIDEO cable, which you can buy just about anywhere you buy home video products. Connect the cable to your S-Video on the back of your computer and then connect it on the back of your TV

Hi Ranger01,
If you satellite receiver is HD, connect it to your audio system with Component or HDMI (preferred) cable. If your receiver only passes through HDMI, you will have to use an optical toslink cable for digital audio.Have the monitor out (HDMI or Component) go to one of your tv inputs. Set your TV to Mute and program the satellite box to out put audio through the appropriate cable (HDMI, component or Toslink optical). More details as to brand/HD tv or not will help me give you a more specific answer.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Machaan

Hooking a laptop to a lcd tv

If your LCD TV has VGA input, then you can buy a cable that goes vga out of laptop to VGA in of TV... Also you can get an audio cable that goes from line out of your laptop to 2 rca jacks for your TV...

Radio Shack sells both types of cables - and you can also buy them from many online retailers if you look for video or audio video cables... I got a paired set from pcconnection.com
