Hi,
I have been using DATABECKER CD maker to convert MP3's to WAV's.
Oftentimes the finished WAV's cut off the songs (They are complete in the
MP3 format) Does anyone know what might cause this? I have also tried
using CDEX with the same MP3's and they get cut off too. Is it possible
that the MP3 files are somewhat corrupted? Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

<SNIP
<SNIP This is true for playing but I find the wave files to have the same
defects (silence areas) if saved to hard disk with that tool.
The only tool that I could find up to now that actually repairs the
defects in the mp3 is Adaptek EZ-CD creator pro. Actually it
was recommended to me by the Phylex hot-line technician when I
presumed a defect in my Phylex Mpress3 Player! Those portable players
also play back dead air on faulty mp3 files! Once repaired
with that Adaptek tool and re-converted to mp3 all is fine. The tool
can also be used to efficiently de-crackle Vinyl recodings
Hope to have been of some assistance :-)

If they cut off in both program it is indeed very possible, indeed
probable, that the MP3 files have problems. Try using Winamp to decode
- it seems more fault tolerant than most programs. See my MP3 FAQ at:
