Red and White cable wires are usually for Audio wires. Make sure yo connect it to either Audio (Red & White) Out or Aux Out in your TV and connect it to your Audio (Red & White) In or Aux In in your Sound System/ Home theater.

Sound from Onkyo CD player well and fine. Then connected the Samsung DVD HT-Z310 to Video3 (L/R audio in, V-in from L/R Audio out and V-out of Samsung) but no sound or nor video on TV? Tried to fix it...

What am I missing here?

There are a lot of models mentioned in this post. What are WE discussing?

* A Samsung HT-Z310 is a Home Theater System.

* An Onkyo TX-DS777 is higher-end AV Receiver that DOES have a Video 3 input which accepts composite video and analog audio.

* An Onkyo CD player is irrelevant to the TV sound in any scenario.

* Unnamed TV.

I don't see any path in your narrative that would carry audio TO the TV. Is there an unmentioned HDMI cable in here somewhere? I see no other audio outputs on the HTZ.

Are you running the HT-Z310 through an Onkyo receiver to somewhere (?) else?

The fewer hops and inteconnects a given signal experiences between its source and your senses, the better. I always run the BEST video from any source to the TV first; the best Audio to the BEST audio electronics. If that helps.

I just bought a samsung home theater in a box system, model Ht-D5500. And i also have a hd cable box. i was wondering how can i connect my cable box up so that i get audio from the speakers instead of the...

There are two ways of connecting to get cable TV audio from your Home Theater System.
1) If your HD cable box has a digital audio out ( either optical or coaxial ) you can connect this to the Samsung Home Theater Systems digital input. While watching a TV channel scroll through the Samsungs input ( source ) selector till you hear the sound. Remember to mute the TV sound while you are doing this.Most probably it will be the CBL/SAT input or Video AUX.
2) If your HD box does not have digital audio out you can connect the Red & White audio out of the same to your Samsungs Aux or TV or Video audio inputs . Ignore the yellow socket and connect only the Red and White audio inputs.For getting Video through the TV connect the HD box to TV via HDMI cable or connect the Yellow video out to the TV's Yellow video in. I am sure it is already connected .

How do i get to make tv to play through my home cinrma system

You're going to need audio (red & white) cables. Connect it from the TV (AUDIO OUT) to the Home theater's AUX IN 2 (Below Video Out). Press the AUX button and set teh Home Theater to AUX 2.

Hope this helps!

Samsung z310

You have to press the AUX button and set the HTS unit to D. IN (DIGITAL IN)
AUX 2 only works for the regular red & white audio cables.

Hope this helps!

How can i listen the tv sound on the home conema? I connected by hdmi cable. tks

You have to connect audio cables (red & white or optical) from your TV's AUDIO OUT to the Home Theater's AUX IN 2 (below VIDEO IN).

Press AUX on the remote control until it says AUX 2. (This would be D. IN when you're using an optical cable)

Will play dvds with sound fine...but no sound from tv

You have to connect extra red & white audio cable from your TV's (or cable box, if you have one) AUDIO OUT to the Home Theater's AUX IN 2 at the back (below Video In). Set the HTS unit to AUX 2 using the AUX button on the remote control and you should be able to get sound.
