Have you plugged your speakers/ headphone/ subwoofer (not sure what kind of hardware we're dealing with here) into the correct jack (usually the green coloured one) on the back of your tower?

You can check in device manager (in control panel) to make sure that the driver is installed and working properly. If not, you may need to reinstall or update the driver.

If you are referring to the speaker in your tower, it is possible that the connector has come loose from the motherboard, or is not attached to the correct panel. You'd have to open up your tower and have a look.

If I had more information, I could give you a better answer.

    Regards, redqew

Gotta know this first before we can help>>> Operating system type?(Linux? Win3.11 or 7?)(32-64bit?) Headset or speakers plugged into lime or light green audio jack in back? Drivers installed? Click this link for latest ASUS drivers and bios.
Let's start with that, and then get back to us.

My pc will not restart, asks for the motherboard recovery cd with file P5GD1-FM.rom file, i don't have any cd with this on, can you help

It appears that you have a BIOS problem, it wants you to give it the BIOS .ROM file so it can repair the faulty one. You will have to get this, please download this PDF it is your manual which will explain everything. you also need to find that P5GD1-FM.rom file too, and put it on a disc, or USB or Floppy so it can be used.
