Pull the knob to you, take it out than grab the valves axe with wrech or pliers, to prevent braking the black knob and open the valve.
after you opened it once it should work perfect.
ps these valves seal metal to metal and when thay stay long without working thay can do this.

Steam valve knob is stuck

The only reason for this I can think of is that the water has allot of minerals in it and they are depositing on the valve, use purified water from now on.

Gaggia classic steam knob

Have you turned the steam valve off tightly and cracked the knob inside allowing it to turn on the brass spindle.Try pulling the knob off and turning the spindle with a pair of pliers or a small adjustable spanner. If the spindle keeps turning you may have sheared the spindle off inside. If this is the case you will need a new steam valve complete as they are not repairable.Steam valve cost about 35
Tools required 5 mm alan key and 17 mm spanner for steam pipe

Ventilate message, then no steam coming out

Sounds like you have an internal blockage in one of the boilers.
Take it to your local service agent for repair.
Did you remove the milk frother and try the hot water again?
A blocked frother is a very common problem .

Milk does not foam

Look at the milk frother.
Ensure there is the end of the inner nozzle poking out.
If not remove the frother insert a pen and push the inner towards the end until a click is heard.
Job done.

Cannot ventilate machine

Sounds like the milk frother is blocked.
Remove the frother completely, try to ventilate without it.
You should be able to see through the center of the frother.
If not try to clean it out with a paperclip or pipe cleaner.

Gaggia classic -no steam from spout

I had almost the exact same thing. The fuse for your frother is out. If both the frother and the brew head won't heat, then it is your Thermal Fuse. There are two different fuses inside the machine. Take the top off, and find both fuses. Take a piece of wire and connect it to each end of the fuse. Now turn the power on. If it heats, then that is the fuse. If no results, try the other fuse. Either fuse should be cheap. My thermal fuse was $1.98. Good luck!

Airlock in new machine

I have a similar problem, I think. I get water through the steam thing, but not through the brew head. Not sure what to do either.
