How to reset xbox settings

If you are resetting to factory defaults use the system settings, go into storage and use the "y" button to clear the cache of all settings, if you are resetting the entire console there should be a restore to factory default button on the bottom of the system list.

My son took it upon himself to try to upgrade his game system using a website he found on the internet. he said he followed the directions , and it said to turn his psp off and remove the game. now when he...

sounds like he was trying to install CFW. try pressing the right or left paddle switch and keep it pressed, while the psp is switched on and see if it pops up with a menu. Also ask your son for the name of the file he used to upgrade the psp. Then reply here with your answer

I forgot my sons password to his dsi

  1. hold L,R, up (control pad), X, B, and select.
  2. turn on and press A, while holding the buttons

1- Disconnect the PS3 from the internet.
2- Turn the standby switch off so the red light turns off too, then you turn the system back on
3- Then place your finger on the power button for a total of 4 beeps to access the recovery menu. It might not work on the first attempt but it will on the second.
4- The display will instruct you to connect your controller to the PS3 and press the enter button. A list of menus will appear on your display. The choices are as follows: Restart System, Restore Default Settings, Restore File System, Rebuild data base, Restore PS3
5- Select Restore Default Settings.

That's a manufacturing fault. Take it back to where you bought it or get in touch with Microsoft (who will probably replace it for free)

We bought a ps3 used the other owner had a online password we need the information to sign it to my son as the user we dont know the other user password how can we fix this problem

Hi renees1172,

If you would like to create a PSN account for your son/already have one, then it really doesn't matter if you were to:

-Reset to factory/default settings
-Format the PS3 hard drive (although if you do this, please make sure you backup all essential pictures/music/videos/game saves onto a usb drive)

From there onwards, you will have every setting restored to the way it was intended for a new owner, fresh out of the factory. You can then connect to anything without having to worry about security codes etc.

Hope this helps,

Please leave feedback,

Thanks!!!

Parental code

Try to reset the PS3 by holding down the power button for at least 5 seconds. Otherwise, you can try this:
1. From the XMB home menu, go to icn_settings.gif (Settings) > icn_syssettings.gif (System Settings) > [Restore Default Settings].
2. Once you select [Restore Default Settings], you willsee a list of settings that will be restored. Scroll through them andpress the icn_btnx_color.gif button to restore the settings.
3.

  1. After the operation is complete, youwill see the initial setup screen that appeared the first time youturned on the PLAYSTATION 3.
You will need to go through the initial setup process before you can use the PLAYSTATION 3 again.

IMPORTANT
TheRestore Default Settings feature will erase any previously savedsettings and restore all of the following settings to the default:
  • BD/DVD Settings
  • Music Settings
  • Chat Settings
  • System Settings
  • Date and Time Settings
  • Accessory Settings
  • Display Settings
  • Sound Settings
  • Security Settings
  • Network Settings
  • Internet Browser Settings
Also,do not confuse [Restore Default Settings] with the [Restore PS3 System]option (the next option down on the menu). The [Restore PS3 System]will not only restore the default settings, but it will also delete all hard disk content. (You will lose all saved content from your PS3 system's hard drive if you use [Restore PS3 System].)

Switching ds game slot

I could not find anyone that sold these connectors anywhere. I ended up buying a DS or DS lite motherboard on eBay for cheap. I was able to replace the game slot connector.

Pay attention when you dissassemble your console. Especially the whay the rear buttons and the pins fit. Also, be careful when you pull the 2 housings apart. I accidentally damaged my power button switch and had to replace that as well. Other than that and the soldering it was very easy to do.

I hope this helps
