Try cleaning your Cd.
Failing that you could borrow an operating system disk to get windows up and running and then get all the drivers etc from your restore disks

\windows\system32\kdcom.dll Missing or corrupt Kernel debugger

Try tapping F8 at bootup to enter safe mode, read your manual to see if you have a recovery partition on your HDD. You didn't post the model so I have no clue.

If you can enter safe mode you need to try system restore, not last good know configuration.

If you see last know config on your screen, then you should also see safe mode.

So you need to run in safe mode, and run system restore, or run the recovery mode if you have a recovery partition on the HDD.

If none of these work, then you only have three options, go to Avira.com, download the rescue disk, burn it to a CD and run it in DOS, this is before windows boots. Now if malware corrupted the DLL, Avira will kill it, but there is a chance it can't clean it and will destroy the files,DLL, and windows won't boot. So now you have to do below.

The other option is you need to download windows, what ever version you have, if you have win 7 home 32bit, then you have to download it, and burn it to a DVD. Then try a repair, if a repair does not work then you need to reinstall windows, and then install all the drivers like, (chipset, video, sound, lan, wifi)

This option, you can contact Acer and see if they have a recovery disk for you.

Good luck.

This acer AX 3400-E4502 , window 7, doing fine until it froze while I was typing a journal. It froze and shut off by itself. When I restarted it, it tried to do a repair but after a while it went to black...

hi there,
well this won't sound good but you are most likely suffering from a hardware failure. It sounds like your video card. this can overheat once and just get worse from there(runs for but 20 minutes or so then dead). so you would have to replace that to fix the first issue.
ok so since you have done a reinstall to a drive that had a kernel(version of windows) that is still present and newer thru updates. the recovery is a missmatch in files.
so you have now made it hard to get to your data unless you have another hard drive(then just do a fresh install to new drive and view old drive for data). as you will need to have a new boot record on the operating systems drive (or clean the old drives boot record with fixmbr this would require much more explanation)

hope this helps

Can i386 unidrv.hlp for xp pro sp 3 be downloaded from Microsoft?

  1. Insert the Windows XP startup disk in the floppy disk drive, or insert the Windows XP CD in the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
  2. Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted to do this.
  3. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  4. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
  5. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the Administrator password is blank, press ENTER.
  6. At the Recovery Console command prompt, type the following lines. Press ENTER after each line. cd system32
    ren ntkrnlpa.exe ntkrnlpa.old
    ren ntoskrnl.exe ntoskrnl.old
    cd "c:\windows\driver cache\i386"
    expand sp2.cab -F:ntkrpamp.exe c:\windows\system32
    expand sp2.cab -F:ntkrnlmp.exe c:\windows\system32
    cd c:\windows\system32
    ren ntkrpamp.exe ntkrnlpa.exe
    ren ntkrnlmp.exe ntoskrnl.exe
  7. Type exit to quit Recovery Console. Your computer will restart.

Kernel missing or corrupt

First, try doing Alt-F10 at bootup. It's supposed to load erecovery management. This is where the recovery software is located. If you can execute it, you will be able to restore windows and still create another recovery set.

Now, if you have tried to boot into Safe Mode with Command prompt and this doesn't work, then you will have to contact Acer and order the discs. It'll cost about 50 dollars to order a recovery set from Acer.

Windows Failed to load because Kernel file is missing

try pressing f8 when you load vista and then select start normally
if that doest not work and gives you the same error then restart and press F12 as soon as you see the dell logo, put in the vista installation disk that you got with the laptop and select boot with disk option.

try and repair or the recovery option .

NOTE : IT IS RECOMMENDED TO TAKE BACK UP OF YOUR FILES BEFORE USING THE RECOVERY OPTION .

Can't boot and get winload.exe and ntkrnlpa.exe errors

If you reinstall windows just make sure you do it on the partition it was already installed. If it was not installed in D as long as you do not delete or format that partition you will not lose that data or the partition.

As for your errors you will need to reinstall windows if you cannot repair the already installed partition.

Acer 5520 notebook startup issues

You are missing the file NTLDR.exe and NTKRNL.exe. NTLDR is the first file your computer sees when it is booting up and it brings up other files to get your computer started then it turns it over to Windows file called NTKTRNL which actually brings up the Windows operating system. The only wayto fix is to find a Windows disc and copy them over to three folders that you have either win32, windows or winnt. Copy to all three if you see all three buy only one of those starts your system and it seems like it's win32 based on your error, folder under your C: drive. That will solve your problem and your computer will boot up normally.
