a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Waiting for GPS comes up when I try to get directions, it never loads

what are you using for gps? ovi maps? garmin? google maps?

i suggest installing google maps to see if your gps is working alright.

then check in phone settings to ensure that gps positioning method is enabled for 'built-in gps' and 'assisted gps', thereafter check positioning server is set to ''.

normal lock time is around 5-30seconds with E71 GPS with A-GPS on; anything more than that i'd attribute it to a faulty built-in gps unit.

let me know if it works.

How do I change the flash card in a Garmin Nuvi? I have been given a card with maps of Europe on it but don't know how to swap it out with the U.S. card currently in the GPS.

Hi. Save yourself the effort and do not change the flash card with another preloaded one. Your US maps are registered to your specific GPS and will work only in your GPS device and no other. Similarly the Europe maps from someone else's GPS will not work in your Nuvi.
To get the Europe maps active and working, your only option is to buy the maps (on DVD) and register them online with Garmin. This is an expensive option, but unfortunately it is the only option.

Does any map software work on the different gps like magellan tomtom etc.?

I do not think so. Maps are released by a few map makers and licensed for use. A GPS maker reformats the map info into a proprietary format that is recognizable only by its GPS units. And No you cannot use maps from one GPS maker on a model from another GPS maker. However nothing prevents you from trying it, but before you do so, make sure that you back up all the content of the GPS unit.

My new tom tom go 300 gps has nosd card with maps

If you don't have maps, you can't navigate.

So: Get an SD card. Download the maps.

Question for you: How did you wind up with a navigator with no card and no maps? You might consider taking it back to the place you bought it and exchange it for one with the minimum necessary to make it work.

I'm attempting to re-install maps on to my 7 year old Legend using the 'save to device' button. I get the following notice-'Your GPS does not support map transfer'. Why does my GPS no longer acccept maps...

Garmin Express cannot be used to transfer firmware to the etrex Legend. Use:

Legend/Vista/Etex (H)Cx, any unit released prior to the Colorado) have map limits. They will only read 2gb of maps on a card (even if the card is larger) and will only read 2024 segments.

You would have to ask Garmin support as to why you cannot use the old disks. It may be irrelevant, but all methods of updating a Garmin do NOT work on all Garmins regardless of age. Even a utility that does work may work only if it is the version applicable to that generation of Garmin GPS units.

FYI, even if you have lifetime maps (free), you will only get free replacements for the maps that came upon the Garmin. An Australian Garmin with free maps will not allow you to get free maps while in the USA. You would have to pay for such.

Hello.I have a problem with my GPS sistem inVion GPS-7V102-IDE. The map don't come on. It seem like it disappeared MP-3,MP-4 program works fine. What do I need to do to fix this problemThanks.

well it may have come with a CD that had the maps on You have to reintsall the maps. The mp3 Mp4 working has no relation to the maps excdpet that they often overwrite or corrupt maps.
if you dont have any backup maps you will hyave to buy new ones as they are not free nor under any warranty. what country are you from ?

GO720 Map Update problem

It appears that this problem was a case of non-backwards compatability with maps to application versions. My gps was on v8.02 application which was not compatable with the v8.15 series of maps. I had to remove ALL the software off the gps, allow it to rebuild using TomTom Home up to v8.300 and then re-load the v8.15 maps. This then stopped my older maps from working.......
I can see this working in a commercial sense; ie every time there is a gps version update everyone will need to purchase new maps, but jeez it's bloody frustrating!!
