d-23,it should be the only diode in the area of the red and black wires

That would be a ground to help abate electrical noise pickup.

polarity protection diodes , replace d23 & d28 with 1n4001 or bigger.

Similar problem with Samsung Syncmaster T260 at 1920x1200 on HIS Radeon X1950XTX video card. Black horizontal stripes lasting 1/60th of a second or so every few seconds, then black screen for 2 seconds, then fine again.

I Set the catalyst control center control panel for the graphics card to Alternate DVI operational mode under the Digital panel attributes item. Setting the screen to 1600x1200 also seems to stop it doing this. BUT...it didn't used to do it. Bought it in November, and it didn't start doing this until late January. Go figure.
