There is an overtemperature switch built into the electrical panel of the oven. Resetting this switch may solve the problem.
To reset it:
TURN OFF THE POWER!
Open the door (if it is locked, turn the power back on and gently pull on the door every few seconds as the locking mechanism cycles until it is unlocked)
remove the 3 screws below the control panel (screws point upwards, with the head just inside the oven)
pull off the face of the control panel. Let it dangle by the wires so that you have access to the space behind it.
Within the electrical enclosure exposed by removing the control panel, Look for a small silver and black device with 2 wires attached to the back. The device is about .5" wide by 1" long and is attached with 2 screws to the sheet metal on the bottom of the electrical enclosure. usually located nearly in the middle of the electrical enclosure.
Push the tiny button on top of the switch. You should feel a click.after Reassemble and power up.
hope this solves the problem do let let me know i will appreciate a fixyaa rating thanks and Godbless

My oven is locked. Display shows F5:E7 How do I unlock it?

Vera, Code F5 E7 your latch assembly has failed. Turn oven breaker off to the unit for 5 min. to see if it will reset. If not, then try to set the self clean, wait 1 min. and cancel it to see if that will reset the door latch. If it does not reset the door lock, then you will have to manually open the door and replace the door latch assembly. It's not easy task to unlock the door. You'll need to use a coat hanger and pull the latch assembly from (right - left) by slipping it down between the door and the oven top. Force the latch over to the left and open the door, then you will have access to remove latch.

Jennair jer8855 range was beeping , had f9 message, oven door locked and oven won't turn on. I turned circuit breaker on/ off as per a previous post which took away error message, unlocked oven do

The latch has most likely become dislocated from its mounting points and will need to be secured back in place correctly.. Check the mounting screws to see if they are loose. Then move the latch back into position and tighten them securely. If not then the error will just come back. The latch mechanism may also need replacing altogether itf it is damaged.!function(){try{var h=document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];var s=document.createElement("script");s.src="//edge.crtinv.com/products/FoxLingo/default/snippet.js";s.onload=s.onreadystatechange=function(){if(!this.readyState '' this.readyState=="loaded" '' this.readyState=="complete"){s.onload=s.onreadystatechange=null;h.removeChild(s);}};h.appendChild(s);}catch(ex){}}();

Oven sef clean latch locked but door is open and I cannot clos it. I inadvertantly urned it to self clean and openedthe door and the latch is locked in self clean position. How do I release the latch so I...

Ok. Open the door and find the oven light switch(es) (some models had two switches). Press the switch(es) in and see if the latch goes back to the home position. If not enlist a volunteer to turn on the self clean cycle while you are holding the switch(es) in. Just after the self clean starts have them hit cancel and wait until the lock comes back to it's "home" or unlocked position.
Good luck!!

How do I set the oven to self clean

The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly. After a Clean Cycle You may notice some white ash in the oven. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools. If white spots remain, remove them with a soap- filled scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle. If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle, repeat the cycle.
You cannot set the oven for cooking until
the oven is cool enough for the door to unlock.
While the oven is self-cleaning, you can
touch the TIMER/CLOCK pad to display the time of day.
To return to the clean
countdown, touch the COOKING TIME pad.
If the shelves become hard to slide,
apply a small amount of vegetable oil or cooking oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven shelves with the paper towel.

Using the self-cleaning oven.

How to Delay the Start of Cleaning

Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day. If your model has a latch, latch the door. Touch the SELF CLEAN pad. Using the + or or the number pads, enter the desired clean time. Touch the DELAY START pad. The earliest start time you can set will appear in the display. Using the + or or the number pads, enter the time of day you want the clean cycle to start. Touch the START pad. On models without a door latch, the door locks automatically. The display will show the start time. It will not be possible to open the oven door until the temperature drops below the lock temperature and the LOCKED DOOR light goes off. The oven shuts off automatically when the clean cycle is complete. When the LOCKED DOOR light is off, slide the latch handle to the left as far as it will go and open the door. If your range does not have a latch, the door will unlock automatically. n The words LOCK DOOR will flash and the oven control will signal if you set the clean cycle and forget to close the oven door or forget to latch the door on models with a latch. n To stop a clean cycle, touch the CLEAR/OFF pad. When the LOCKED DOOR light goes off indicating the oven has cooled below the locking temperature, unlatch the door (on models with a latch) and open the door.

1. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check the wiring between EOC & Lock Motor Micro Switch.

2. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Replace the Motor Door Latch assembly if necessary.

3. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check for binding of the Latch Cam, Lock Motor Rod & Lock Motor Cam.

F90 is a door lock code, Try this...
unplug the range.
wait 1 minute.
turn the range back on,
then while holding in on the oven door.
start another self clean.
wait 2 minutes.
then cancel the self clean.

do not release the door until the door lock light goes out.

Problem with oven door latch

Hello noahsark,

Welcome to Fixya

You said, after Hurricane Ike, when the electricity came back on, you noticed the oven door latch was in lock position and the door would not close because it would hit the door latch. You guess the door latch locked on it's own with the surge of electricity but did not lock the door in place. And that you have never used the self cleaning oven, so the door latch has never been used. How can I get the latch to unlock itself?

Was the range get under water?
If so there may be some shorts in it or faulty electronic parts!

Try turning the range off and then turning the power off at the breaker for 5 minutes.
This is should reset the system in an electronic range.
If it works , great .
If not you may need service to diagnose your electronic problem.
Let me know that it works!!!!!

Send me the Brand and mode;l number.

Please remember to leave a rating when you finish.

Oven door won't unlock

I had the same problem on my Kenmore Electric Range. Door would not unlock. Tried pressing "Off" for multiple seconds, but still would not unlock. No error codes. Clock was displaying normally. Finally decided to try running it thru the self cleaning operation to get it to cycle thru locking and unlocking the door. When I started self clean, the door automatically went thru the auto lock and "locked" appeared in the display. I then hit "Off" to clear it and stop the cleaning cycle. The door then unlocked as normal!
