My computer has a device but no audio.what am I going to do?

It started When Irefformat my computer...Ithink the problem is that I have no installer of the motherboard,..what am I going to do?

Suggest reinstall the audio driver.

[Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

The device is the audio chipset.
The Windows operating system was not stated.

Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.

Stating HP Pavilion dv2000 is just stating the model series.
When installing a Driver, there are TWO main things needed;

1) Operating System (Which version of Windows)
2) Model number
For HP and Compaq computers we will go with the Product Number.

On the Bottom of the laptop is a white Service Tag.
P/N = Product Number

Please post back in a Comment, and I'll step by step you through downloading AND installing the audio driver.

Also go to Device Manager, and look to see what audio device is used.

WinXP:
Start > Right-click on My Computer > left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on the Hardware tab. Left-click on Device Manager.

In Device Manager, left-click on the + sign to the left of -
Sound, video and game controllers

What does it state?
Intel?
Conexant?

Win Vista:
Click on the Windows logo button (Start), then right-click on Computer. Follow the above.

It asking for modem device on high definition audio bus driver and sound is not coming...

    My computer is toshiba satelitte pro m200. from the day one, i have audio problem saying no output audio is installed. please help me


    Hi,

    No Audio Output Installed Fix:

    1. Go start menu
    2. Click programs
    3. Click accessories, then click system tools and the to system restore.
    It only takes a few minutes and the computer will automatically reboot.
    4. Go to control panel and find add/remove programs. Uninstall the software that runs your sound device.
    5. Re install your Audio driver.

    I have deleted the audio hard ware without knwoing about it. so there is no sound . what to do now?

    My computer speaker started clicking continuously


    Hi,

    Uninstall the audio device:

    Go to device manager, Expand Sound, game and audio controllers-> right click on the device & choose uninstall. (Check the option for delete the device driver software for this device if available).

    Uninstall the audio software from the programs and features:

    Go to control panel, choose programs and features. Select the audio software then click on uninstall. Restart the computer.

    Download the audio device by selecting the operating system from the below web link:

    Install the audio device. This will work for sure.

    There is no audio device on my laptop


    it is audio device but you need the instal the driver for it,go to the official site(toshiba.com) select your type of laptop and download the driver,instal it then restart and try this start-my computer-right click-manage-device manager -here check if is instaled(no yellow signs).

    No audio devices installed


    Do you have windows XP or Vista?
    Do you have sigmatell audio card?

    When this happens go to start->run type in services.msc and press run.
    Find Windows audio service. Right click and select properties. SElect start type "automatic" and click on start.
    Audio should work.
