Problem for Fuji Finepix Z20fd Digital Camera

Can't upload pics to my computer

I plug my digital camera up to my computer and when I turn the camera on it says "communication error." I am trying to upload my pics to my computer but it just keeps saying that.

- I just tried them all and it says the same thing. Also, on my computer screen a box pops up saying "safely remove hardware."

- The box has a number of things to click on like "USB Mass Storage Device" , "Generic USB SD Reader USB Device" and some other things like that. It will let you click on them. There's a properties button and a stop button and when you click on properties it shows a troubleshoot button. I have tried the troubleshoot button and messed around with it but it's very complicated. Do you think I need a certain software for on my computer for my digital camera?

- Thanks but I figured it out. The problem is my usb cord. It doesn't fit properly so I have to hold it in while I upload the pics to my computer.

- When I plug my camera into my laptop, I get the message "communication error" on my camera screen. I've tried changing ports, and clicking on the camera icon itself (in the computer menu), but nothing happens. Dern. Any help would be much appreciated! Gracias.- elle29usmc

Try it in a dfferent USB port. The port your are using might be bad.

- Ok. If you have that box on your computer, then it "sees" the camera.
Have you tried going into My Computer and looking for your camera listed in the removeable drives section? If you see your camera there, double click on the drive and see if you can't drill down a folder or two to see your pictures. Try it and let me know.

- You need to go to My Computer. Its on your desktop or you can get to it from the start button. Thats where you need to go.

And yes, If you cant get to it though My Computer, you may need software or a driver to get to your camera.

- I'm glad you got your problem worked out. Have fun with your camera Latasha. You may want to buy another USB cable, or maybe a hub. That would help you out alot. Come back if you have anymore problems.
