Use the "x-superscript-box" key just below and right of the big circular cursor pad. It's the key between the x^2 and log keys.

SOURCE: entering denominator into casio fx-115ES calculator

Yeah use bracket sign if it in double enclosed use two open parenthesis and close on the other other side. Usually it is max it in triple parenthesis or bracket.

Example

((2x-2)-(2x+4)) { = usually means you gonna use three parenthesis or bracket ((( ))).

[ = means (( ))

( = means single ( ).

Goodluck.

You can't simply enter 7x+9=30 into the calculator, there is a way to calculate what the x is but its been a few years since I've done these..

Most probable that you are not using the correct syntax.

Press MATH, then scroll down to reach the SOLVER line. Press ENTER. Create the equation, using the ALPHA keyboard to type in letter symbols.

Press ENTER. The screen that opens displays the equation and a list of the variable present in your equation. Each letter (variable) must have a value, except the unknown. If there is a 0 after the = sign on the same line as the unknown, you must clear it so as to leave a blank.

Specify the lower bound and the upper bound to speed up the search.

Once finished press [ALPHA][ENTER] to execute the (SOLVER)

Press [math] [0] to put the calculator into equation solver. Then you input your equation in 0 = format. So, the equation x/3 - 1/5 = 4/3 would be input as 0 = x/3 - 1/5 - 4/3 . Then press [enter] .

To solve this with a ti-84 press [math] and select solve from the menu. This will open the equation solver. Type in your equation

(Note: you may need to put it in the form with 0=, So the equation would be 0 = 2c + 6 +7c - 8 ). Then press

enter or arrow down button.

If you wan to solve an equation using the SOLVE feature you enter it as follows (your example)

You should rewrite it as 5/4*X-18+3 (= 0). Implicitly, the calculator assumes that the right side is ZERO and you do not enter any right side nor an equal sign.

Type in

5/4 [*] [X,T,theta, n] -18 +3 [ALPHA] [ENTER] (SOLVE)

You should get an answer -780/47 or the decimal equivalent (depending on display mode.)

most common way for software to show exponentiation is with a double asterisk

ie; 9 to the 10th power would be 9**10

Hello,

You get access the command by pressing [MATH][1: |->Frac].

If you want enter a fraction and keep it as a fraction (albeit a reduced one)

key in the number then the sequence [MATH][1: |->Frac]., then [ENTER].

Practice : 27/48 [MATH][1: |->Frac] [=] gives the reduced form 9/16.

While this fraction is still in [ANS] memory, you can press [MATH][2: |->Dec] [=] to get the decimal value 0.5625

Hope it helps.

Hello,

Press [SHIFT][MODE][6:Fix] and press a numbetr between (0--9). The number you select will be the number of decimal places your results have.

However if a result is smaller than 0.001 it will be in scientific notation.

Hope it helps.
