I have a problem thats says enter 1.06 then press y^x then press 9. How do you do the y^x on the caculator
Use the "x-superscript-box" key just below and right of the big circular cursor pad. It's the key between the x^2 and log keys.

SOURCE: entering denominator into casio fx-115ES calculator
Yeah use bracket sign if it in double enclosed use two open parenthesis and close on the other other side. Usually it is max it in triple parenthesis or bracket.
Example
((2x-2)-(2x+4)) { = usually means you gonna use three parenthesis or bracket ((( ))).
[ = means (( ))
( = means single ( ).
