Re: Cant find xp drivers for my vista pc
HP doesn't offer specific driver downloads for your computer. It came preinstalled with Windows Vista, however the computer has standard hardware. You can go the the manufacturer's site and download the drivers for each peice of hardware.

Yes when you get a new Operating System you need new drivers for that operating system. Your Windows XP 2 drivers will no longer be valid once you switch to Windows 7 for your Compaq Presario c783tu. Most of the drivers will be automatically installed by Windows 7. You may have little problem with searching for some drivers for Windows 7 which Windows 7 does not contain. In this case you may try to install and experiment with Windows Vista drivers.
Warning: You can severely disable the functionality of your PC if you install the wrong driver. In this case you may need expert help and advice to remove those drivers from your PC and restore the normal functionality.
I'm afraid the Compaq Presario SR5510 doesn't have support for Windows XP, as it is built for Vista or 7. If it shipped with a downgrade option to XP, I assume that the approriate drivers is either located on a CD or on your harddrive somewhere.
you dont mention the drivers you need, you dont get drivers for software as you say, but if you mean the motherboard drivers, you will have to find out the maker of your board then search the relevant makers web site for drivers.
The only problem you may come across is that the bios may have a different version for Vista than that of what you need for XP so there may be some problems stting up the motherboard drivers.
