I have a HotPoint washing machine, and it is leaking water bad. It leaks whenever the spin cycle starts, and the washing machine shakes pretty bad in that cycle. It's my ex girlfriends washing

The leaking starts whenever the spin cycle starts, which causes the wasing machine to shake somehwat violently. I've been told it's because of the center piece on the inside of the washer (Sorry - I do not know the technical term for this) gets off-centered. I would greatly appreciate any advice that could be given. Thank you in advance for your input. -Jason

The leaking could be coming from the exit port on the washing machine. Check the hoses leading from the washer to the drainage port in the wall. As for the shaking, check that the level adjustments at the bottom of the machine are level.

SOURCE: Washer Shaking Violently on Spin Cycle

Yes, there is...The legs on the washer are adjustable, the rear legs are often ( not always ) self adjusting, make sure the legs are not stuck and that they can move freely. But the front legs can screw in and out to move the washer depending on the floor the washer is sitting on. Make sure the washer is as low to the floor as possible. When the legs are screwed out too far the washer becomes wobbly. Often on the metal style legs there are lock nuts that can be tightened to secure the legs so they don't move on you. washers where really meant to sit on a cement floor, if your washer is on a wooden floor look carefully at the strength of the floor. If the floor is moving up and down when the washer is running, the floor may not be strong enough to support the washers weight. Most main floor laundry rooms floors are nailed down, the sub-floor is more secure if the sub-floor has been screwed down. Sometimes extra support may have to be added under the flooring to add some strength for leaking issues Check the easy stuff first, fill hoses tight?- drain hose cracked?
Failing those checks, cut a piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the size of your washer. Slip the cardboard under the washer and run a short load. Look carefully at the water mark on the cardboard. The mark on the cardboard the water leak will leave, will help you tell from which side or front to back the leak is common from. This will help point you in the correct direction to look for the trouble maker.

SOURCE: shakes violently during spin cycle from back to

I had this problem with my front loader as well. It is probably the mounts or "level shocks" on the bottom of the unit under the tub. I have a Kenmore by Frigidaire and had to replace the "level shocks". I only paid about $43.00 and was not that hard to put on. Look under your machine and see if the shocks are connected to the tub. Check under the top panel also to see if that particular model has mounts up there too.

Water leaks on spin cycle

Water can leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

My whirlpool wtw5500sq0 leaks water when washing

There can be many causes for this leak, and where it leaks helps diagnose what to fix. Most commonly the water pump leaks from its seal and bushing over time since it spins whenever the motor is engaged. The reason it never spins water out until the spin cycle engages is because it is turning in the opposite direction as flow to prevent water running out as you wash, You way also have a separation of the washtubs water ring, or a crack near the top, since the leak only happens during wash time.

no leak during cycle is explained because water is moving through them to fast to leak when the machine settles it starts to leak

Leak from lower door section and from powder door thing.

This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.
