My Westinghouse lcd monitor L2210NW does not turn on everytime. Right now for three days - despite rebooting, etc - I cannot get the screen to display and there are no lights. Power is going to it. Ideas?

anngallant, Yes, I, and all the other "LCD CCFL back-lit monitor" repair guru's on fixya already know what your L2210NW suffers from. You will do a DIY repair to the monitor's SMPS/inverter circuit board, or contract out the work to a qualified electronics technician, or do a cash+trade for a refurbished unit, or trade-in for new monitor. Do NOT attempt the first two "IDEAS" without an extensive speed reading session of the FIXYA profiles of "budmrtn", "buddymc", and other tech's that deal with the very common single cause of black or black and blank screen lcd failure and what it takes to repair/refurbish them! You can also (FYI) do the YOUTUBE thing and view some of the longer and more informative video clips on "LCD monitor disassembly" , "LCD monitor repair". Some are pretty good! Good luck with your unit, whatever route you take. I'm 12fixlouie on fixya.

Out of focus 22"LCD Monitor

Since you have your reciept you should be able to get a refund repair or replacement from Best Buy.

If it's past the warrenty date then you could ring a repair shop and get a quote on the cost to fix but would probobly cost more than the monitor is worth

I cannot get rid of OSD

sylvia2265, My best guess is that the unit's power supply (internal) is bad or at least a bit on the "Almost Bad" condition. When "strange" and "unexplained" things start to occur with a CCFL back-lit LCD monitor, I would immediatly suspect the units "switch-mode-power-supply/ CCFL inverter" printed circuit board as the first place to look for problem. You or someone will need to inspect the printed circuit board for component defects. If Westinghouse warranty not solution, then try to locate local tech that knows forwards and backwards all there is to know about common problems with SMPS/inverter circuits in LCD monitors and TV's. 12fixlouie

Can't remove cover of Westinghouse LCM-22w2 monitor

Hey Ed,

I hope I can help, It doesn't open from the back, it opens from the front.... carefully! There are four support screws, which hold the LCD screen to the desk stand, after removing all the support screws (4) on the back under the support stand cover.(which pull up to remove) (Remember! the whole case and face frame is plastic, so take your time). Work to separate the black face frame around the LCD from the silver case. Its held together by small plastic clips on the face frame to the wall on the LCD case. Start at one of the corners and slowly pry the face frame and silver case apart. (separate it inch by inch, work your way around the case carefully. If one corner doesn't give, go to another side.
Putting back together works reverse, the face frame and the case snap back together, Carefully! And replace screws (4).

Russell

P.S. I have three LCD models from Westinghouse, LCM-22w2, L2210NW and the L1916HW. They all open the same way.
