This is kind of an ambiuous question. Are you looking for barrier strip inputs and outputs? Are you looking for 70V output lines? Or are you looking for a standard 1/4" TRS input with either 1/4" or speakon outputs? If you can describe your application requirements, I can provide you with a recommendation.

Thanks,
Dan

This is a very easy cheap fix, but since this thread is pretty old first make contact to help you out with this issue, common on CA series power amplifiers of Crest Audio.

Am a technician, i havent dealt with crest sound before. my client's amp has lit the clip light, control light but not the signal light. initially it was ok but all of a sudden, they went to operate it and...

The signal light is triggered by the presence of an audio signal on the input side and should be visible. With the clip light on without any input signal, suggests a problem in the front end. This is not an amp to be worked on without a schematic. Try getting the prints for this from Crest (Peavey owns them now).

Hello\r\ni was wondering if i could get some assistance :) my crest audio amplifier ca4 keeps shutting off. Do you have any idea what the problem is and if it can be fixed. thank you very much

Heat?

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced hands-on tech.

Find a local music store that sells power amps and see if they know a tech who can look at it. If the banana jacks are whacked , theyre easy to replace

How to activate 70v line of crest audio cki 800v

First of all the 70 volt line is used when we are dragging long lengths of speaker wires. hence to counter the drop we use a high voltage line brring it further down without any remarkable drop and use a step down matching transformer to power the speaker according to the impedance of the speaker to the secondary of the transformer. Connect the 70 volt to the 70 volt output in the amplifier. Now connect the other end of the wires tto the primary of the 70 volt transformer. Use the secondary output to connect to the speaker using the tap most suitable..2, 4,6,8 ohms . Check the phasing when you connect or reverse if the bass quality is less.
Hope this helps. Good day

Every time I turn the amp on it shuts its self off.

disconnect all speakers and test if the problem corrected you will have a problem in your speakers(either wire or speaker itself)-try to connect the speakers one by one until you find the bad one and change it--if all above does not work send your amp to service center near you

No power

These amps are very compact and are not the easiest to work on. If you are not experienced at repair, I would not recommend you start here. Where are you located?
