I agree with all the above. My Amilo-D (a grade B one bought cheap from
PC Interworks) has been my trusty sidekick for nearly six months now.
The graphics drivers are a pile of crap, but the modded ATI ones from
Omegacorner.com work beautifully.

My only other comments are:
- The laptop can get a little noisy. You have to remember it's using a
desktop P4 processor, so it needs a big fan to keep it cool

- The build quality may look shoddy, but it's actually quite good.
Mine's dropped off my bed and been karted around in my car and it's
still working fine.

- The aftersales care is fantastic. Mine started to suffer from an
overheating problem. Fujitsu-Siemens offered to pick the laptop up on
the same day I called them (but that was too early for me, so they
collected it the next day). It was picked up and dropped off by
courier, and they did a good repair job on it.

Is this model one of the Amilo D series, by any chance? Cos i bought an
Amilo D 7830 from comet a few months agoonly had one problem with it,
and that was with the graphics card. WinXP really didnt like the drivers
(it used to blue screen on me after a few minutes in the game). However,
I've managed to overcome this problem by using the Mobility Modder (cos my
laptop runs an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000). Other than that, it's been an
extremely good laptop. Gets a little hot now and thenbut thats sorted
by raising it a few inches for the fan to suck some fresh air in
