Try this:
Testing remote control: The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the BVDT IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals. www.remotes.com
It can be the IR receiver board is bad, or the remote is not send out the IR signal. as for the faster flashing thats as simple as a blown bulb, replace the bulb and see if that fixes the problem, it may fix the lot because the other symptoms you mention are a bad connection, if bulb is fine check the connection isnt loose or corroded over. if it is simply file it back to establish better connectivity,
First make sure that the camera has fresh batteries. Then see that the flash setting is either 'on' or 'auto' or any graphic mode like a lightning bolt. If this doesn't help, the flash might be damaged. Any camera shop can check this quickly.
good sign its flashing , woth door open depress the left side flap oppiste the blinkin light. does the light then go solid red??? i fso its an indication that the electricl eye is operating ok .
theres a screw 1/4 in. along the right side underneath the icemaker itself, youll need to removeit and the cover its holding down. you can then slide the ice maker assy foward and out of machine,There will be another litle tab along loeft side uder ice maker youll need to depress to ppulll unit out. pry off the white cover from front of the ice maker assy itself and have a look at the main gear 2 in. round, is it broken off, or on its way top breaking( sometimes the tabs that hold it on to the ice maker module itself break preventing operation, if this is the case youll need to repalce the ice maker assy.
The Machine does not know the lid is shut.... there is an arm connected to the lid... that arm runs just inside the the top cover and presses a button to signal the lid is down.. some where along the line the arm isnt pushing the button..take off the top cover and it should be an easy fix
Press menu and go to setup tab. go down to reset press right arrow highlight reset press ok
If that doesn't work then you will have to send it into repairs because there maybe something electrically wrong with the flash. Resetting usually takes care of it. :)
