2006 Ford F-250 6.0 Engine just shuts down at an idel or going down the road. it has a bad glow plug and shows a code for it . I just replaced the cam posithion sensor. Does the engine keep shuttting

Shuts down while at an idle or going down the road. I just replaced the cam position sensor. It starts back up right away and runs for a little while and then shuts down again. The engine light is on because #6 glow plug is bad and showing a code for it. Does it keep shutting down because of the bad glow plug? It is showing a code for the bad glow plug, but is it supposed to shut down for that?

I have had the same problem with my Ford mustang the only thing is that it only shuts down in high idle, after the engine temperature warms up there is no shut down. It could have something to do with the transmission or the temperature sensor the best thing to do is get a full diagnostic and not do it your self.

SOURCE: 2001 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 engine shuts off

it is possable/likely a bad ECTS (engine coolant tep. sensor), this can cause the injectors to allow to much fuel into cylinders and cause a low compression and or flooding situation, good luck, marty

SOURCE: 91 f150 4.9L no visible timing marks, hard start runs rough.

I have wondered why this happens many times in the past. You would think the marks should line up using #1 cylinder but they don't.
It has been a while but I think if you hook up to #5 ignition wire the marks will come up for you.You will need to undo the "spout" connector before setting it to 10 degrees before top dead center. The spout is a two wire jumper clip that should break out of the harness at the distributor.
Warm the engine up for a while so it doesn't stall as easy while you set the timing.

Testimonial: " Right on, timing it on #5 cylinder worked. I thought I probably had a bad damper but it appears o.k. "

I have a F 250 6.0 that takes a little longer than it should to first start?

It sounds to me like your glow plugs are shot or just on there way. They do need replacing from time to time, especially when not given time to heat up properly watch for light on dash to go out be for cranking engine over. If after having them replaced problem isn't fixed, i would try a new fuel filter.

I'm having problems with my 2006 chevy trailblazer. The car is idling to fast then dropping. The codes are P0506 and p0014.

just change your t.p.s ( throttle position sensor) the codes are false codes when tps goes out and the engine struggles to keeps going this will cause codes to be sent that are not really prob.

My 2006 xlt deisel 6.o engine, cranks real fast umumummumumumummmmmmmmmm but it does not seem to be firing ccertainly won't start.

Check all of your glow plug wires, if they are all on it may be your glow plugs or your fuel pump, glow plugs are cheap and dont cost much and are easy to replace. fuel pumps are not cheap and are very complicated to replace. I hope this information helped. Be careful and drive safe!

Engine light came on and code read po403 egr valve , warrenty covered new part and approx 600km down the road light came on again reading code po678

This code is a cylinder number 8 glow plug failure. These can be read using an ohm meter.

Missing

Sounds like a load miss. Chk plug wires for deterioration and or cross firing. Wires should not cross over each other. Worn plugs load wires causing increase spark out put increasing cross firing potential

Bad glow plugs and/or glow plug controller. Common issue with these vehciles. Some also have harness failures. Replace all glow plugs as a set not individually.
