You probably have bad battery contacts or another electrical contact somewhere inside if this is happening. Take the batteries out and clean the contacts there. Have you dropped this camera at all? If the above doesn't help, then you have some other problem related to the hardware most likely. Some sensor is telling it to shut and it will be best to send it in for repair or get a new one.

Does the camera give you a error message or just turn off? Turning off might be low battery power. Do you get flashing or a error message?

Try hard reset . Remove the batteries and insert new batteries . Sometimes this may work

Another chance is that lens is struck

* Carefully inspect around it for dirt or debris

* If you see any dirt or debris around the lens, use canned air to gently blow it away

* After removing dirt and debris, turn the camera on and off

This should work
Hope this helps .
If your problem still continues you need to take to service center .

Try helping the camera to retract using your fingers while you turn camera off, try also helping lens to full extent if they don't.if you do not succeed in this simple way the camera lens must be taken apart and reassembled at a repair shop.

You can restart the camera (power off and on or follow reset procedures) and/or try to get the grit out so the lens can retract.
