I get picture on Viber laptop, but no sound. How do I get speakers to work and where can I find the speakers.

Check to see if you a speaker icon in the lower r/h side of the task-bar down by the clock.
If the icon is not there right click on a blank area of the task-bar and left click 'properties'
Left click 'customize'
Scroll down to 'Volume' and select 'Show icon and notifications "
Click 'OK'
Close the 2 properties pop-ups.
Right click on the speaker icon and select 'playback devices'
The 'sound' pop up will appear showing whatever you have connected ( speakers or headset etc)
Make sure the speakers are set as default if you have more than one sound device connected.
The speakers should have a green tick (check ) when they are ready to use
Right click on the speaker icon and select 'Open volume mixer"
Check that the volume slider is above 50% and the speakers are not muted (shown as a red no-entry sign on the speaker icons at the bottom of the sliders' If muted click on the slider speaker icon.
Right click on the speaker icon and select 'playback devices' Put the cursor on the blue graph to the right of the icon, right click and select 'test' All being well the computer speakers will respond.

Got tot the lower right of the computer screen and open the Sound Icon by right clicking with your mouse over the ICON. Check the speaker setting there and look for the slider bar to see if the sound volume was near the top and/or if the speakers show up as being active in the system. If all seems correct, you may have to go to the Samsun web site, seek support/drivers and update the current sound drivers to get reset and operational. THE OTHER method is to go to your system DEVICES and run down the list to Sound. Open that and check all lines individually for Driver Update. The computer will seek an update of drivers from there also, and automatically do the work for you.

I just purchased a barebones computer. It has an msi gf615m p33 motherboard with geforce 6150se chipset and realtec hd audio. I am unable to get any audio. I have downloaded the realtec drivers and have...

Where are you plugging in your audio, are you plugging it into the front or back? If it's the front, I believe that your headers might not be working or not connected on your motherboard. It can be something easy to miss when putting a computer together.

If you have it connected to the back, look at the device manager to see if there are any errors or warnings. Your drivers may install properly, but sometimes warnings aren't addressed, and sometimes overlooked.

Also, try to make sure that the audio profile (right-click on speaker, and then click on Volume Control Options) show that you are not using the HDMI digital HD audio. That would mean that audio would only be heard through an HDMI device. Sometimes when configuring drivers, and if it detects anything HDMI (to TV, or Monitor) it will make this the default.

Please Rate. Thanks.

Volume speaker icon not show

The volume speaker Icon wont show usually because you have no sound drivers installed. To confirm this,
1) Go to your control panel and double click on "Sounds and Audio devices"
2) The window that appears sholu show the device volume slider active - which means the driver works fine and is installed. If this is so, click on "place volume icon in task bar".

If not, you need to install the sound drivers for your device.

Volume problems on my Apple MacBook

Hi, Sorry you are having problems,
If I understand you correctly, you have your headphones plugged into the MacBook and are expecting sound to come out of your speekers ?
Well, if that is the case, you must know that the mac will automatically cut the signal to the speekers as soon as headphones are connected.
Now if you are saying that you connected the headphones to test it and found that whe you changed the volume, you could hear the change on the headphones, but when you unplug your head phones, you do not notice any sound difference on the speakers.
SO let's say that is the problem. First thing to always do, of course, is a full shut down and a clean start up with no headphones installed. Once you have booted up, try it again....
If it still does not work, go into your sound preferece pane in the system preferences and change some of the settings, like muting the sound and clicking the button that allows for showing volume in menu bar, unclick options go into the tabs go clicking and unclicking things... then quit and then go back into the sound preferences and set it the way you want, sometimes shaking it up a bit gets it back on track...
Good luck.

Cannot seem to calibrate.

Go to Control Panel, open device manager, and and check for any yellow checks for your
sound, video and game controllers. If there are none, your system is go. Then go to your audio manager on control panel, and set it up for whatever speaker configuration you have. I have realtec audio manager. This step is a must for configuring—you choose whether your laptop will use its own speaks or use your external speakers—you have to turn off the internal speakers and turn on the external manually. You can adjust volume there..
