Any of you guys ever try this mic on a live rig?
Have seen it in Musician's Friends catalog for a
while now, billed as "killer" for guitar. Any
better than the old reliable 57?

I have used the D3 on mostly rack toms and
in some cases where stage volume is a problem,
it works well on acoustic piano.

It's a good one, I used two of them for a year or so, micing my 4x12 cab.

It's a good mic. Not better, necessarily, but different. More highs, more
lows, different characteristic to the mids, hypercardioid pattern. Sounds
similar to a brighter MD421, with a higher output. You may love it, you may
hate it.
