When I take a pic, on the cam, it's perfect. I upload it to my computer Vista =( using windows into my pics. When its uploading, the pic looks perfect. When I open my pics, the pic then has horizontal lines through them. Top half of pic is good, then line, and then all black or red. Some pics have 3 lines with 3 different shades of red. Is this a compatibility issue with Vista? Microsoft says it's compatible but it's not the camera itself (i believe) but thats why I am here ; )

You can upload pics to your computer by following the steps below.
There are two ways of doing so.
1. you can take your memory card out and put it in a card reader which can be connected to your computer using a USB cable.
2. download software of kodak easyshare in the following link.
Then connect your camera to your computer using the USB cable which would have been given to you when you bought the camera. The software will recognize the camera and you can take a copy of the pictures in the cam from that software.
Please rate the solution.
You should be upload pictures using a USB cable even if you do not have the additional sofware. Once you plugged in your camera, it may take a few minutes for the computer to register a new device and you should be able to view pictures using the Vista popup or in my computer from the "new device"
Take it back and get him a different camera, I hate to tell you that those special pics may never be recovered. I have been looking for help everywhere for this crappy cam and the pics are so bad you can't hardly see anything even in good light. I still have not gotten the software to work at all. It is junk and they need to get them off the shelves I paid 35.00 for my son's and it isn't worth one penny! Sorry that you lost out on such a important historical moment hope you used your camera too.
Good Luck. Mia
Same problem here, i upload the pics on my computer, then i turn off my cam, few minutes later try to turn it on, but no success, still have the blackscreen. I try to change the battery, reset it (15s without the battery, another 2 hours but no success), format the memory card (even without the memory the cam doesn't turn on).
as far as i think VISTA is not compailant with the CANON software. since vista s a latest version CANON will have to release a new version of its software for VISTA. so this must be requested with CANON.
you do not need software for this or any other camera Windows XP can cope very well on its own.
Plug in the camera. make sure it is switched on and set to upload.
Windows will put up the picture and scan Wizard and ask what you want to do with the images
Take it from there
