Unplug. Remove 2 screws @ lint filter. Pull forward on top one side at a time and lift up each front corner - entire top will hinge upward. Remove switch wires at front and 2 5/16 screws. Pull front up and out. Hope this helps!

My dryer, model Mdg6800aww, currently vents to the side but I need to change it to the back but the installation and user manuals do not say how to do it. Any ideas?

You need to take the dryer apart to do that. You would have to reroute the vent internally to go to the back of the dryer. http://parts.sears.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Dryer-Parts/Model-MDG6800AWW/3048/0151200/W0703640/00001

It's piece number 17. You have to get started by taking the screws out of the left and right side of the door hinge. Then open the door and pull the front panel forward. There are two 5/16 on the bottom of this model you'll have to remove, I'm pretty sure, too.

No Power on Front Panel,

Hello there and than you for choosing fixya
You will need to check the following to ensure that they are all in good condition Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. To determine if the door switch has failed, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.) To determine if the thermal fuse has blown out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page.
Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached. In the diagram Below all of the parts shown must show continuity using the OHM meter. If one item is open, the dryer may not run or heat. so if you have a meter and you think you can perform the following tests do so with caution ok?

Do not know hoe to get into the dryer to replace the drum belt

unplug the dryer, open the door and take out the two phillips screws holding the door on and remove the other two screws opposite the door screws.remove the door and pull the front of dryer off.now remove the two top 5/16 inch screws and metal Lbrackets, down below them you'll see i think on the right side a screw that's in a hole or in a cutout, those screws are short and the one below it is a long screw on the bottom, don't take out anymore screws than that,on the other side the long screw is on top and the short screw is on the bottom and don't take out anymore screws than that or the bulkhead will separate on you,now pull the bulkhead off and you can replace the belt, when putting it back together just remember the short screws go into the cutout holes and the long screws go in the holes without the cutout.one more thing when you put the bulkhead back on make sure the felt isn't sticking out into the drum opening,if it is use a screw driver and push the felt in with it and push up at the same time and the felt will get pushed back up and behind the drum, run your finger around the drum and you'll be able to feel if the felt is sticking out

Duet error code e1

Whirlpool Duet E1 Error

E1 is an open thermistor. The thermistor lives on top of the blower housing. Get to it by removing the bottom quarter panel.
The quarter panel is right there in front, down at the bottom, below the door. Look closely and you'll see two screws. Remove them and the panel comes right off.

The dryer would not start, it was dead, opened and slammed the door shut, it worked fine. 2 days later it went dead again, sounds like the door switch, any ideas?

Sounds pretty good, actually. Insert screwdriver on either end of bottom/top panel and lift. Find the door switch and bypass it for a quick fix (just remember that dryer will operate when you open the door - not recommended if small children are present in the home). My advice is to replace the switch.

Need model number or part number for whilpool dryer

The model number for your dryer is usually located on a plate or sticker inside the door on the body of the dryer hidden by the closed door.

The most common (but not the only) belt number for Whirlpool dryers is 341241 and the idler arm for that common dryer has tabs that fit into the floor beneath the motor drive pulley. Take a loop of the belt with ribs inside the loop and pass it through the opening below the roller and loop it around the motor pulley. If it's the most common unit the end result should look like the image below for Whirlpool:

Belt Configuration

Good Luck

Bosch maxx wtl 6300 dryer when placed on a dry cycle it beeps every couple of minutes and stops and the filter light flashes. The lint filter is cleaned and it still does this any help?

Hi Guys...
At least I can shed some light on how to open the bottom part.
When you are looking into the dryer with the door open, take a look at the bottom hinge of the door. There is what looks like to be button popped out slightly..
Place your thumb on it and press. This should open the bottom part of the dryer.  Then clear out the gap between where the lint filter connects to the other units below it (when the door is closed...)
Hope this makes sense... there seems to be a sensor there..  I just cleaned mine so praying that the beeps stop.. Its been driving us mad for the last 8 months!
