Could be brushes stuck, the tubes might have been smashed a little not allowing them to contact the armature or other major electrical problems, Check for continuity thru the brush tubes and see what you get.

I have a Dewalt 625e type 2 router which just quit working. I replaced the switch and the PC board but it still doesn't run.

Check both brushes. Some DeWalt brushes have a spring loaded plastic pin built into them so when it wears down the pin pops out and prevents damage to the armature. Other brushes have a copper wire that, when the brush wears to a certan point, it will no longer touch the armature again preventing damage to the armature.

Need to change collet that broke

The collet is simple to replace - it will pull out if you unscrew one of the large bolts enough. Keep unscrewing the bolt that holds in your bits, and the collet will fall off in your hand. 1/4" or 1/2" replacements are easy to find on eBay or any Skil dealer.

How do I replace the magnetic ring on DW618?

take out 4 screws on top of router. i used a large flat head but they are not flat head (some kind of combo with star type center). remove top could be a little stuck. you will see bearing in center. the magnetic ring sits underneath the bearing. you need a small bearing/gear puller to get bearing out. once out the magnetic ring goes flat side down over center shaft and then the bearing gets replaced over it. i just tapped the bearing down softly with a small hammer being careful not to break new magnetic ring.

When the router is at slower speeds, I can stop the motor when pushing wood through a bit. when I back off, the motor starts up again. Is this normal or do I have a problem with the router.

Is it a variable speed? Routers only cut at high speed, wood anyway, if it is variable speed, They must think you will be cutting something soft, I don't know, But they are like a dentist's drill, when they slow down, they don't cut, Keep that thing on high and make some dust, it should not bog down, If it does, check the brushes, if it still does, it has lost it's power and is basically shot. get a new one. Hope this helps.

I am looking for a manual for the DW621 plunge router. These solutions aren't helping me .

Here's a link to where DeWalt has the manual for this. You will also have to identify if you have type 1, 2 or 3. This didn't work for me using the Google Chrome browser, I had to use Internet Explorer. Good luck

Need to replace broken dewalt 618 magnet ring.

you have to take four screws out from top of router. i used a large flat head screwdriver but actually the screw has a weird head like a cross between flat head and star. anyway once you remove cover you should see the bearing in the center. you need to use a bearing/gear puller to remove it. the magnetic ring lays just beneath the bearing. if its still there. mine was in pieces. clean out the mess and then the magnetic ring slides on flat side down. then LIGHTLY tap the bearing back into place. i used a small hammer. there didn't seem to be any lubrication in there so i didn't add any.

How to connect 1/2 inch router bit into dewalt router

Are you asking how to put a router bit with a 1/2 inch shank into a router with a 1/4 inch collet? You need a 1/2 inch collet. Most routers with a 1/2 inch collet can also use a 1/4 inch collet. But smaller routers cannot use a 1/2 inch collet.
If this isn't clear, please ask again.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Dewalt router 616

You can buy it online from DeWalt the part number is 399063-00 list price 23.74 or you might try ereplacementparts.com also. They don't show what the wire guage is or length so I can't tell you to go to an electrical supply house and get it. Good luck

Different Bit shanks

Those with larger bit shanks can hold larger blades. For large joinery cuts, buy a router with a large bit-shank diameter.
