Blackberry Lag Hey my blackberry pearl was working fine but not everything takes forever and the hourglass is always popping up. i have deleted most pictures and ringtones and it still lags. any help on this topic would be much appreciated.

Take the battery out and put it back in after 30 seconds or so. While the device is rebooting (or while the hourglass is still spinning), .plug it into the PC Then open the application loader and remove the 3rd-party application that's causing the issue

• BlackBerry Devices take a while to turn on, so be sure you have waited atleast 5 minutes for it to turn on

• Make sure the battery isnt dead (plug in charger)

• Try pulling out the battery and re-inserting it.

• If none of the above steps worked, try this:

1. Plug your BlackBerry into the computer.
2. Download the latest version of the Blackberry operating system from your carrier.
3. install it to your Blackberry using Desktop Manager

• If it isn't recognized by the computer, or the install dosent work, call your carrier for a warranty repair.

On the Status screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, the File Free field indicates low ,if the device memory is full then these things will happen on your device,so to never have this problem delete unwanted applications.To delete run desktop manager and select application loader,select the applications that are not frequently used and remove them.Also keep the messages for a month or two because these mails will be there in your mail box.

i also have the same issue it seems to be sonething that all of the balckerry pearl 8100's do but it helps if you keep your inbox not too full

its in your message options.... go to email.. or txt message.... go to Options...... General options... and scroll down to Actions... it will say keep messages.... it should say 2 months for you move it to forever.. so that it will only delete when you delete it

I CAN NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND I AM A ALLTEL CUSTOMER WITH THE SAME PHONE AND PROBLEM. THEY KEEP TELLING ME TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT.

Check to see how long your mail is configured for retention.

Open your in-basket. Press the menu button, and select "options".

Scroll to the bottom and the last option is "keep messages". You can set this for anywhere from 15 days to forever.

I would download the latest Blackberry OS from Blackberry.com and install it via the Desktop Manager. You can get the latest OS from this URL:

You can find the model by removing the battery and it should be on a sticker.

blackberry when turned on shows hourglass and then turns displays security test then shuts down and then does it again
