It appears your motor/motor controller has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

Washing machine will not engage drum in wash or spin mode

it sounded like the brushes have gone but you said you replaced them right? usually when the drum stops spinning its because the brushes have completely worn down and there is nothing left are you sure you snapped them into place properly or brought the correct model numbered ones? then are very difficult to get into the correct place I had a very similar problem and it took four attemps to get them in thr right place they are not the most easiest of things to do. if you have then it might be the motherboard electrical component if this is the case you will need a new machine im afraid if you dont have that much disposable funds try the freecycle website the offer free stuff look for you nearest area and take a look

Water goes into the machine ok at the start of the program.when the motor should kick in there is just this wishywashy sound but no movement in the drum. The red light on the front then flashes fast.I have...

Whole load of different possibilities with your problem, and alot are not obvious! What i`d do is to select spin only-only 2 things should happen,1 the pump should come on and 2 the drum should go round. If you hear the pump running without any h2o in the machine you should hear the chug chug noise as the machine`s pump is scaverging the bit of h2o in the body of the pump,if nothing is heard you should check that the pumps impellor is not jammed. If this, ie, 1 works but the drum isn`t revolving and ,as you say the belt is still on,then i should think the motor brushs are worn out.I maybe getting confused with the 100:1 different models.Of course this wishywashy noise maybe your interpretation of the pump being on all the time for the only other thing that will make this noise you describe is when the drum relvolves with h2o in the drum.If you start the machine on a wash programme and it fills for 5 secs then after 15 secs nothing happens it is either ,i think, the motor brushes worn out or the pcb up the creek-mega bucks,so physically remove one or both of the brushes to make sure they haven`t worn out-the carbon bits should be ,when new, about 2 inchs long,1/4 inch=worn out to oblivion!=answer to problem

Wont spin

Ok....no spin can be a few things here we will make a list for you to check
1.....Make sure all of the water is being pumped out. If not he machine will not spin.
2.....Remove thre filter at the base of the mascine and clean it out. Look in the aperture with a torch to ensure there is nothing in there.
3.....Check thet the drum spins around freely by flicking it by hand. if it doesn't smoothly revolve then there is a blockage in the drum. If it makes a low growl then the bearings a re faulty. Both of these reasons need technical assistance.
4.....The motor brushes being worn can cause the spin to stop. it may still wash but the spin may be effected as the brushes get to their wear limit. You will need technical help to replace brushes.

good luck Tony fixitap@gmail.com

Bosch WFL2450 Washing Machine wont spin cycle

Hi there, this problem sounds as though the carbon brushes are needing replaced or infact just needing to be cleaned of dust or dirt. Its very common for the brushes to be covered in dust and fibres. Im not sure where the brushes will be on this model but I hope this helps you in someway.
