SONY PD-150 - can't hear sound from recording

My wife is a student and on a shoot out of town with a SONY PD-150. She called and said she can only faitly hear (if at all) the sound on the camera and when she plugged in her IPOD earbuds, she couldn't hear either. Could it be a setting/switch? I'd like to help her if I can.

Could be the volume level, which is found on the bottom-left of the flip-out LCD screen.

Finding a charger for sony pd 150 should not be a problem, unless the battery has a problem in which case you will need to buy a new one.

Dear Sir/Madam, We are actually looking for some professional help. We are a religious organization, and currently shooting our events with Sony PD-170, using sony normal mini dv tape and Panasonic...

Some of the tapes that we get can be problematic so, if you want to record professionally like the TV studios do. Here is what you must do so that you do not lose the information on your tapes. Some of the bad news is that you can not recover anything from your DV tapes if nothing was recorded on them. However the way forward from now on is to record black on your tapes before shooting on them. Here is what you do. Buy a new tape or if you want to use a used tape you do the same. You insert your tape in the camcorder, with your lens cap on that means you do not take your lens cap off and then start recording. What you will be doing is laying black on your tape so that it becomes ready for recording. It means that your tape will now be recorded with black. you can then rewind and start recording with your cap off the true recording. The tapes will not then be problematic. Please let me know if this has solved your problem.

I need to download the sony DV DSR-PD 150 P driver software

The camera doesn't need drivers, but it does need an application that will take DV input. If you have a Mac iMovie will do that, provided you have the FireWire cable for it.

Sony dcr-dvd105 no sound

Try this:
Play back a recently recorded scene through the viewing screen. Make sure any "mute" setting is turned off and turn the volume up. If you can hear the sound, the problem is not in the camera. Also, run through your menu's audio settings to make sure that they are set correctly.
If you can't hear any sound, repeat the process with an external mike attached. If this gives you sound, the camera's built in mike is defective. Time to hand it in for repair.
If you still can't hear any sound, something else is wrong with the camera. Again, send it in for repair.

I can't hear the recorded video!

At first, when you were not able to hear sound in playback on Camera LCD view, it was problem of Built-in Speaker defect. Now you can't hear sound on TV as well, it means Sound Processor IC is defective. You need to contact Sony Service Center for proper repair.

Color or CCD not working

Is it playing correctly when you view it on a nobmal tv set?

If it is your lcd needs to be adjusted or replaced.

If it isn't recording it could be your CCD unit.

Either way you should take it into a camera dealer and have them look at it.
