Why wont a universal remote or regular remote work to my rca television

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
If remote control is working OK, the fault should be with the infrared sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician to replace it. If you're trying to use a universal remote control, it should be synchronized with the TV, with set-up code said for TV. Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Remote sensor board rca tv model p52928

Disconnect the board if you have a real working remote, set will work via the remote without that board---remote sensor is behind screen and above the board.

Check the remote by looking through a digital camera at the remotes light while pressing the remote buttons if you see the light then the remotes working and you most likely need to replace the IR sensor. You can get the remote and the IR sensor from www.tvrepairworld.com

Vcr sensor not responding to remote

Hello
If you are sure that the remote control works well, and VCR does not respond to it [you haven't here given any details about uour VCR; its Brand name, Model number etc:-], the remote sensor of your VCR is faulty. You can replace it, if you have an idea and knoledge in electronics. You have to disassemble the front panel of the VCR, to locate this device. It will come just behind the infrared window, will look somewhat bronish black in colour, a three terminal component.

gopakumarg43_89.jpggopakumarg43_90.jpg I hereby includes the picture of a typical infrared remote sensor, and its typical circuit dagram, to know you the pin numbers. Just try, if you are familier with electronic equipment service. If you are not skilled to do this work, get this set repaired by any experinced service technican. OK.

Picture is warped. rca 52 inch model p52929

This is hte beginning of a convergence problem. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heat sink and will be marked STKxxx. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs.

Keep us posted.

Remote sensor in the TV

First Inspect the remote batteries. also make sure TV is not on a LOCK ON option... now, the sensor is a small smoothly part near the TV front buttons, you can clean it carefully FYI, exposing unit remote sensor to direct fluorescent or outdoor light may cause signal interference.
