Question about HP Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I have an HP LaserJet 1200, that doesn't print except on "Self Test." On self Test, it says, "Pages Jammed in Printer=19, Pages Mispicked in Printer=4." What can I do?

Yes, that is the total number of pages misfed, and jammed over the life of your printer -pretty good actually
Are you sure the driver is properly installed and thecable is ok? I would try removing it and re-installing it. When asked if you want to 'replace existing driver' during installation, select 'yes'. If after you reinstall it and you still can't print, then there is a board problem, and it's time to replace it...entry level lasers are under $100 these days and are about 4 times faster than your HP1200

Delete old driver and then reinstall. Can you do a self test, hold the start button and hold five seconds. Good luck.

HP LaserJet 1018: paper will feed, but no content can be printed

just try to print the self test of the hp 1018 printer.self pest is printed directly from the printer not by giving command from the printer. press any one of the button on the printer and hold it till the light blinks.leave the button when light starts blinking .place the paper in the tray.as soon as you leave the button .a self page will be printed..that is self test.if the self test comes out proper that means its your driver software problem.but if self test also has problem then its the clear problem of dust collected on the printer reading lens due to not using it for 2 years.so the printer needs servicing. get it serviced at local printer repair shop .

Number of pages my printer has printed

You need to print a self diagnostic page. On that page will be listed the number of pages printed from trays and accessories.

To print the Self-Test Diagnostic Page
• Control panel: Press Setup, select Print Report, select Self-Test Report, and
then press OK.
• Toolbox (Windows): Click the Services tab, and then click Print Self-test
Diagnostic Page.
• HP Printer Utility (Mac OS): Click Device Information from the Information and
Support panel, and then click Print Configuration Page.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate this as fixya.

HP LaserJet 2430n occasionally prints goblety-gook

ISSUE: When printing from the computer, you receive a line of garbage or all of the printed output comes out on one line. SOLUTION: See the following:
  1. Perform a self-test to be sure that the HP LaserJet printer is functioning properly. If the self-test is not correct, remove all cables and accessories (if any) and print a self-test again. If the self-test is still not correct, service the printer. If the self-test is correct, go to the next step.
  2. Reseat or replace the cable. Check the cable for bends or pressure applied by objects resting on the cable. A faulty cable or cables that do not meet the IEEE-1284 Standard can cause print defects by distorting signals.
