Question about Fuji FinePix F470 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera had beer spilled over it. Not much but enough to stop it working. I took it to a camera repair shop in Vitnam, The guy said he could fix it and went to work on it, when i got it back it worked perfect for a while and all of a sudden it stopped showing an image on the display. I can however look at previously taken photos. Just cant take new ones. If i take a photo and then check if an image came out (even though i couldn't see an image when i took the photo) nothing is shown. I really hate this useless camera looking at me all the time. I have plenty of free time and am quite confident in my abilities to fix it. I just need to know No1 if its possible No2 the right advice No3 the parts.Any help would be enormously great. I refuse to buy another camera until i at least have a go at fixing this one. Finepix f47 fd.

Which model camera have you got? you listed in Fuji F470 but your last piece in you description says F47fd. I can offer help either way but please clarify.
Thanks

Ok. So you say nothing can be seen from the lens view but play back is fine, yes? so nothing wrong with the screen.

I would say that the optical sensor ribbon has come out of it's socket on the board. That would be my first place to check. It's located underneath the screen in the middle of the pcb. the ribbon comes up through the centre of the board and plugs in to it's socket. should also have a strip of insulating foam pad to protect it from the screen mount. this also keeps it in place. while your at it check all other connections to be sure nothing else is loose. Screw drivers needed for opening the case are small cross head and a "tri-wing" driver for the security screws. This can be found on ebay for a small price. Normally found under Nintendo wii accessories.

If you have no luck with this then you may have to source a donor camera for a new sensor etc. It's cheaper than a fuji repair cost.

I have a hp 5070-4221 wireless keyboard I spilled beer on and now it does not work. Can it be repared

Once upon a time coffee was spilled on a wired keyboard and this mechanic I knew took the keyboard out of its case, poured water on it , and let it dry for a day or two.

Then he reinstalled it and it worked!

I am not saying that this solution will work for you, but the Beer may be causing the keyboard buttons not to work.

Good luck on this repair.

Spilled beer on plater Pioneer CDJ-800MK2

Well, the problem is that you spilled beer on your platter.

More than likely the beer dried up, and now it's all sticky.

Professional cleaning is highly suggested.

Screen wont work

Seems to me, the screen has shorted out. To fix this, the camera will have to be disassembled enough to get to the screen and clean the contacts which are many and along two adjacent sides. You can do it on your own if you want to take the risk (and learn about camera electronics). The other two options are to have a technician do it or replace the camera. Replacement may be cheaper than a technician. Do some research before you decide.

Camera has lens error 14

Do not turn it on take the battery out and just let it sit for at least 3 days or however long it takes for liquid to dry As long as it is not turned on for a few days It should be just fine. However You should have it cleaned out by an electronics shop or when you do use it outside it will attract some Very unwanted insects like bees, wasps, due to the surgar residue from the beer. LCD screen went black

No. It is likely that there is still water in it. It's very important that you take the battery out and do not try to use it. Take it to a repair shop and be SURE to tell them it had water in it so they can take the appropriate steps to clean and protect it.

Beer Spilled on my Power Acoustik PS2-820 Amp

Hi , now that you have the amp apart , just check the underside of the printed circuit board and check for any corrosion ,rub it with a soft brush . then try connecting without speakers . see if it still blows fuse, if it does then there is a likelihood that your mosfets / outputs may have shorted the first time you reconnected it . Good luck

Screwed. you can try sending it into repairs but they were probably charge you more to fix the camera than what it's worth.
