Try resetting the router then after it is successful just change the firmware to another one like dd-wrt it is much better and powerful.

You can get it at www.dd-wrt.com

thanks

I ddont want to have a password any to my linksys router

You can turn off wireless encryption in the Linksys router. This is in the wireless settings.
If you turn off the encryption then your wireless router is open to anyone to use your Internet and access your network.
I recommend you do not allow this as it will cost you money when your Internet download limit is exceeded.

What drivers do you want to download?
There are not drivers for Linksys router. It works on a software called as firmware?
How many wireless computers do you have?
What is the operating system on your laptop?
If your wireless network is secured then make sure that you have the correct network key.

Want to modify my settings

Documentation is at
http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WRT54G2
But this page is way more helpful
http://www.pcwintech.com/wireless-setup-linksys-wrt54g2-linksys-firmware

From a browser enter 192.168.1.1
This should give you the web interface to your router.
Your interface should look something like this:
http://ui.linksys.com/files/WRT54G2/1.5.00/

To login leave user id blank and use 'admin' as a password (default)

Note that this model has at least 3 different variants and particulars will vary:

WRT54G2 wired desktop fine, can't connect to wireless.

Hi Seth6025,

Try without using Wireless Encryption (password).

Try changing channels; default is 6; try 1 or 11.
Change your SSID: personalize it
SSID broadcast: Enable

Check the advanced wireless settings and make sure MAC filtering - DISABLED.

Reset the Linksys router by pressing RESET for 30 seconds should everything fails and re-configure. Firmware is another consideration BUT this is just a new release.

Regards,

Angel
