Your question is what if I found a phone that was reported lost...I would return it. That is why Verizon put's measures in place to block accounts from allowing people to activate phones that have been reported lost or stolen. Put yourself in the place of the person that rightfully purchased the phone and has either misplaced the phone or had it stolen. Would you want someone to return the phone or would you want them to try to work around the system to try to activate the phone that they already know is lost or stolen. By knowing the phone is lost and having the ability to return it and purposely not doing so, you are stealing the phone. Since Verizon has the MEID number on the back of the phone, they can return it to the rightful owner if you give it to them. If it were me, I would give it to Verizon and do the right thing.

If reported lost the phone cannot be reactivated. The phone can be a good kids toy but should be returned & most likely will be a refurb & sold.

Lost my phone can I receive replacement

Contact a TracFone service representative. Dial 1-800-867-7183 to report your SafeLink lost or stolen. Inform the representative of the estimated last date of use. Give a detailed description of where you may have lost the phone or how it got stolen.
  • Provide the representative with your mobile device's serial number or ESN found on your activation card. If you cannot locate the activation card, provide the representative with the cell phone number.
  • Request to keep your old phone number or apply for a new one. After the representative reports your cell phone lost or stolen, request that a copy of the report be sent to your active email address. Check your email address to make sure that you have received the email and a cell phone replacement confirmation number.
  • Expect the replacement SafeLink TracFone mobile device to be mailed to you within three to five business days, without cost. Check the contents upon arrival to make sure that the replacement cell phone, battery, charger, SIM card and activation card are intact.
  • To activate, call the number provided on your activation card. Provide the serial number, found on the activation card, and the SIM card code, found on the back of the SIM, to complete the activation process.

    Lost ipod touch

Your iPod is a tempting and easy target for thieves because they are expensive, small and easy to steal. Because they are so small, they are also easy to lose. It used to be that if you lost your iPod, it was gone forever. Now, there are ways you can find it. However, there are steps you\'ll need to take to make recovering your potentially lost or stolen iPod easier. Read on to learn how to find a lost iPod.

Register your iPod with Apple and keep a record of your serial number to help you find your iPod if it is lost. You can go to Apple\'s website to register online and create an Apple ID name and password if you don\'t have one already with iTunes. Type in your serial number, which is found on the back of your iPod, after logging in and fill in your address and phone number. If someone calls Apple to report finding your lost iPod, Apple will call you on the phone number listed in your profile. Obtain iGuard tracking protection software online through their website. After you pay the fees for the service and register on their website, they can help you locate your iPod if it is stolen. After reporting it stolen, iGuard will contact you via email with the location of the device (IP address, PC user name, ISP and city and state) as soon as your iPod is connected to a computer with an Internet connection. Register your iPod with the Lost iPods site. With a $5 payment, Lost iPods will provide you with a sticker on your iPod where the person who has found your iPod can contact Lost iPods and if someone reports a serial number of an iPod found on their site, they will immediately contact you. Purchase protection for your iPod with GadgetTrak and register on their website. Install their agent files onto your iPod and if your iPod gets lost or stolen, simply log into your account on GadgetTrak\'s website and activate the tracking for your iPod. As soon as your iPod is used on a computer with Internet access, you will be contacted with all the information about the computer and location. You will even be provided with a map pinpointing the exact location of the user of your iPod. Post an ad in the paper or on Craigslist asking for the return of your lost iPod. Explain exactly when and where you lost your iPod and offer a reward if you can. Though rare, it has happened that people who have found iPods have returned them due to ads they have read in the paper or online. Report your stolen iPod with the police if you are a victim of theft. Give them the serial number and description of your device when doing so to better your chance of finding your iPod.

Lost nokia5233. how can i track the new sim inserted in my handset? i have done FIR in police. but i want to know how would i come to know that whether the thief has inserted new simcard in my handset or...

You will need to contact the carrier and report the phone as lost so that the phone can be flagged. Since you mention thief and police, then you should contact the carrier and report the phone as stolen, they may require a police report filing # as well. The carrier likely won't let you know directly, but likely report the phone status to the police department where report was made.

When connected to my wireless router there's a bad hissing noise on home phone and internet connection is lost when using phone

If you have micro filters fitted to every socket you have a telephone plugged into, and your router's also connected to the phone line via a micro filter, this sounds like a fault you need to report to your telecomms provider and/or ISP.

They should get you to run through a few basic checks when you report the fault to make sure it's nothing you're doing wrong, but should not charge you for fixing any fault that's found.

    Phones blocked

Hi, i have the perfect solution for you. HAND IT INTO THE POLICE! It's not yours because you found it. It's been barred so reported lost. You can't use it and will never, ever be able to use it. It needs the password only the owner will know. It's IMEI NUMBER HAS BEEN BARRED. Do the honest thing and hand it to the Police. Unless you've been dragged up instead of raised honestly you'll sleep better at night.
    Hope this helps you.

I found a samsung instinct and I do have sprint but I guess the phone was reported lost. Is there a way to activate the phone?

there is not. once a phone is reported lost or stolen, that gives it a "dirty" ESN. (Electronic Serial Number) These are numbers created by the FCC to uniquely identify mobile devices. The only thing you can do is send it back to the carrier. Once a phone is reported lost/stolen they are added to a strikeout database. That phone is dead to the network/s.

Help with unlocking my recently purchased blocked fone to take an o2sim

sorry but all the UK networks have circulated an IMEI bar. The only way it can be removed is if the original owner calls his network and reports it found. Then within a couple of days it should be active again.
Once all the other networks get the IMEI they tell their networks to reject that IMEI if it tries to log on.
If your friend received a replacement from his insurance and the insurance was with his network, they will probably refuse to remove the bar. Sorry.
