Lost a setelite signal, how can we fix it? already reset

Doesn´t work yet, do we need a dealer repair

Update/Reload your unit's GPS and sytem software via Garmin page or use Web Updater. Your unit will be functioning again. This problem also occurs if you leave your unit on a dash board in a car and it is exposed to hight temperature.

No GPS signal


Ok Marilyn,

Thanks for the info. Your device has no dedicated reset button like some other Tom-Tom units, but it still can be reset.

To perform a reset, make sure that the unit has a fully charged battery. Charge for several hours if unsure - and make sure the charging light comes on (if it doesn't - it will probably need service) while connected.

Disconnect from charger.

Press the On/Off button to turn the unit on (if not already on) and allow it to start up as usual.

Press AND hold the On/Off button for up to 15 seconds or until the unit turns off.

The GPS should now be reset, and should work as expected when you next turn it on. Good luck!

Magellan Roadmate 1412 won't track satellites


It might mean that the signal is disrupted. Might be a software glitch. Try going outside, get a clear view of the sky. Then reboot/reset the unit. Hold the switch to the reset position or off position for 10 seconds, it will shut off. then switch it back on. It should reacquire a signal within 2-5 minutes, then it will fix on your position. If that doesn't work, try updating your software. Call Magellan Tech Support for instructions.

My ezy40 navman is jammed on the safety agreement...was working fine yesterday. have already attempted to reinstall the maps, doesn't fix the issue.


If your unit has frozen, slide the power button all the way to the right. This is the reset position. Leave the unit in the Reset position for 5 seconds before turning the unit on by sliding the power button all the way to the left.

My tom tom says no gps signal for the last two weeks. How do I fix this.


Did anything change in your environment (new car?) two weeks ago?

What happened immediately before you lost signal?

Is everything else working okay on the unit?

Have you updated everything with Tom Tom Home?

Have you tried resetting the unit (paperclip in the small hole on the bottom of the navigator)?

Have you tried resetting factory defaults? (Menu item under Change Preferences; you need to Show All Menu Items to see this one.)

BTW, nobody's satellite got hit by anything.

Won't find a GPS signal


Try a factory reset on it. Or if you have been doing backups of the files on there reinstall those and see if it works again.

Seeking the repair of my tomtom Go 910


One suggestion is to plug the Tom Tom using the temporary power cord to you home circuit (not the power source from the car). That worked for me. Sometime the Tom Tom shuts down when left in the hot car requiring a reset. Then the best way is to plug in at home and restart. Try it, otherwise I can't help.

on the bottom right hand side press the bars, next screen press the middle right hand sideellow the bars , then top right hand side is the orange and black disc spinning? yes then your unit is looking for a signal , if no then ask tom tom website for instructions,

No GPS signal?


I had this problem (waiting for a valid GPS signal). I did a factory reset and the unit started working again (yes, I lost all my settings, but what good is a GPS unit that just sits there waiting for a valid GPS signal?). To do a factory reset, go to menu -> change preferences -> Reset factory settings.
