Water collects in tumbler when I am not using the machine

Water builds and builds in the tumbler to the point where if I do not drain the water before opening it ends up all over the floor. What could this be and what can I do to fix this? Thanks!

I have a Haier HWD1600 washer dryer combo that I am getting an error 2 on. It will not drain the water out and I have not been able to clear it for the past two months

Its a common error,
Error message:Drain error, water can be not drained fully within the required drain time
Reason 1. Pump filter is blocked.
Solution 1. Please open and clean the pump filter. (Filter access door is on the bottom right, at floor level of the washing machine)
Step 1.Push a flat blade screwdriver into the slot on the filter cover and pull it open ,do not use excessive force.(Fig 1).
Step 2.Remove the rubber hose from its clip and stand a suitable container under it, remove the bung to drain the water (Fig 2-3)
Step 3.Replace the bung and fit it back into its clip (Fig 4-5).
Step 4. Unscrew the filter and rinse it under running water, replace it and close the flap(Fig 6-7-8).
Caution:
1. The filter must be in place during operation, ensure it is in place after cleaning to avoid leakage.
2.Place a container under the drain pump filter, to collect any excess water that may come out of the drain pump when the filter is removed.

Reason 2. Drain hose end is higher than 100cm above the floor level.
Solution 2. Please adjust the height of drain hose to 80-100cm above the floor.

Reason 3. Drain hose is blocked or twisted.
Solution 3. Please check and clean the drain hose for blockage.

Reason 4. Drain hose is too long, or water is back filling from waste water pipes.
Solution 4. Remove any extension to the original drain hose.
Ensure the highest part of the drain hose is nearest the washing machine.Check the waste water pipes in the building are clear of any obstructions and flow freely.

GLTF2940E not spin rinse drain problems

I would check the drain pump for objects. There is a trap that will collect coins and stuff. As this trap builds up it restricts/blocks the water from being drained from the washer.

I have a GE Front Loader. Model# GHDVH670H1GG. The tumbler works until water is required to be drained. At that time, the tumbler is trying to tumble for rinse, but, the water is not being drained and not...

On my machine the pump filter was clogged preventing the water from draining out of the machine properly. This would leave the clothes soaked in water as the machine tried to spin, the extra weight caused the drum to rub against the door seal while spinning, causing the burnt rubber smoke! I removed the 3 screws on the lower fron panel of the machine and opened the drain ( make sure you have a pan or bucket to catch the water! ) cleaned the fliter and put everything back. Works like new again. Good luck.

Bad smell like dirty mop

The following link explains some of the common causes of front loader washer odors and how to minimize or prevent them from coming back:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608512-getting_rid_front_loader_mildew_odor

The number one cause, is associated with leaving the washer door shut all the time. The manufacturer recommends that you leave the door OPEN between washes to allow the wash tub to air out. This can prevent the build up of mold and mildew and will also minimize any odors that may develop.

There is ALWAYS residual water remaining in the drain pump and drain lines. This is NORMAL. Since this is the low point of the drainage system, water will always stay in this area. Leaving the door open will allow the washer to air out and prevent this water from becoming stagnant. In addition, the drain pump reservoir can collect dirt and debris over time. Periodically checking the reservoir will minimize odors. There is a follow on link provided that explains how to access and clean the drain pump.

Only use HE detergent. Using the wrong type of deteregent, or too much detergent can cause the build up of soap scum. Soap scum can also contribute to odor problems. Using regular detergent in these High Efficiency washers will also void any existing warranty you may have.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. If the link does not take you directly to the instructions I provided, copy and paste the link to your web browser. I hope you find this information helpful.

Update on Neptune TL extraction problem

Mike,

No problem just will help me and other linked to on going troubleshooting efforts. I did the same thing when I started.

I was logged in under my other forum name dh1200s any way this statement ""They should be stiff to rotate thru the transmission gearing but will move."" is wrong I can't rotate the tumblers by hand but check for that free wheeling tumbler. I'll add a comment about your request ""Is there a way to test the tumbler speed or to run the machine with the door open to see if they are spinning?"" Yes do you have the Service Manual?

Here it is;
FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

Look in the SM it will show you how to raise the washer top from the base. Just make sure the washer is not signaling for water fill or you spray some water around. I’m going to post this under my FAV6800AWDIY forum name.

If you feel the need to tear down the drain line system here are a couple of pics to start ya off. Make sure when you remove the drain line from the Sump Cap on reinstall is snug up against the Sump Cap. To remove the Sump Cap to empty a coin or two and other possible debris it will twist CW to remove. When you reinstall watch you don’t pinch the rubber O-Ring. Place some towels under the Sump Cap to catch excess water.

Sump Cap and some stuff I found in mine but I had no wet clothes issue just doing DIY maintenance.

My Solution to preventing Drain Line clogs and broken Drain Pump impeller.

Better shot of the Drain Pump lay out and exit hose. I was doing a Outer Tub Bearing replacement. It will be a tight work area. That's why I came up with the Sump Cap filter screen.

Lg washer not draining

On a front loading LG there is an acess panel on the lower left of the front panel. Open that little door and use the small hose to drain out the water left in the machine. (as long as the hose is not plugged with sand) Now, unscrew the big thing next to the hose, which is a filter. Chances are there is something there blocking the flow of water to the pump. If it is clear and still no pump out, you will have to replace the pump motor. (possible impeller loose on motor shaft)

How do I correct the Ld from flashing

"Ld" Is for long drain, its taking longer than 5 minutes for your machine to drain. There might be a clog in the drain line.

Front load washing machine

There's usually a little drain hole tucked away out of sight at the lowest point of the gusset between the inner and outer seals. Before you try anything else, suggest you check this hasn't got blocked with wet lint (the place I'm trying to describe is the bit that's filling up with manky water). A.
