You can try starting your computer in safe mode and restore your computer to another safe point. usually this problem is caused by an update or a new driver installation/update...

How do I open back of Monitr?

There should be several philips screws on the back panel. (WARNING: Because you are opening a CRT, there is a extremely high voltage coil on the back of the CRT in the center. DO NOT TOUCH THIS WITH ANYTHING as it is DANGEROUS if you do.) With the exception of possibly a power supply fuze which you should be able to see next to the power transformer (where the power cord comes into the CRT case), there ARE NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. I recommend you buy a cheap LCD screen to replace it and dispose of the CRT through a recycling program. I hope this helps you.

Samsung 793S (Black) 17

On these older CRT monitors when you have that type of problem it indicated that the high voltage power supply is not putting out the right voltage to charge the picture tube. As the power supply gets weaker the time to show a picture will take longer and longer. It is not worth repairing the unit because parts will run much more than a replacement monitor.

Screen will light up for about 02 seconds and disappear.

The most likely cause is the power supply. This can be replaced by an experienced repairman. In Australia a replacement power supply costs around A$60plus labour.

SCREEN MESSAGE - MODE NOT SUPPORTED

You have set a resolution that is too high or incompatible with your monitor. I assume you are using Windows. Turn the computer on and immediately keep pressing F8 on the keyboard until the 'Windows Advanced Options Menu' appears. Use the Up and Down keys to select 'Enable VGA Mode' Press enter and your screen will work again when windows starts. Now go to the display properties and click 'Advanced' then click the 'Monitor' tab and tick 'Hide modes that this monitor cannot display' OK everthing and now you should be able to adjust the resolution without getting a blank screen again! Good luck and come back to comment soon. Regards

My philips monitor is not working so how can i get technical support?

1.How is this powered? From a separate power supply or direct into the monitor. 2.Does the power light come on when switched on. Can you see any movement in shadowy form on the screen? 3. Check the data cable both ends for bent pins. If the moniot is powering up the connect it to another computer to confirm Monitor or Computer? Do all this and answer the questions clearly then come back

MONITOR REPAIR HELP

The mains switch is a weak link on these, check this first. Also 1 of 2 33K 2W startup resistors in PSU goes o/c, check with DVM or if you have very high volts on main primary res cap this usually indicates a 33K has gone - change both. I've also had a small TO92 transistor hanging off the UC3842 failing causing no startup. A s/c HOT normally causes a blinking LED. note that AC cap IS charged, DISCHARGE BEFORE WORKING ON IT! Did you check for shorts in the secondary side of the p/s, horiz output? If there are none , look for the switching regulator. Check the support components. I've seen these with open solder connections on the coils in the PS due to that abominable glue they use...you'll see signs of burning/arcing on the inside of the cabinet, too. Good luck
