Question about Frigidaire GLTF1670A Front Load Washer

2 Answers

My Frigidaire front load washer all of a sudden quit spinning and draining the water. I called Frigidaire and they told me to take off the drain hose to make sure that it was not stopped up. Now, after taking off the drain hose, taking out the filter, taking out the drum, still nothing, not even an error code. It washes the clothes, it rinses the clothes but when it gets down to 12 minutes it will no longer spin or drain the clothes not even in the drain/spin setting. The clothes are so soaked that we are having to take the clothes to the sink, wring them out and then put them in our dryer. Please somebody help me.

We did check the pump, we checked all of the lines, we even took the drum off to make sure that nothing was hindering it from spinning, but nothing, everything was clear.

Do you think that I might need to replace the whole knob assembly?

  • kathysevilla Mar 08, 2009

Thank you all for your help. I will call a tech tomorrow and see if I can get someone to come out.

  • kathysevilla Mar 08, 2009

My son said that the control board shuts down like it's ran through the complete cycle and it sounds off the three beeps to let you know that the clothes are done, but in actuality, it shuts off before it drains and spins when it is showing 10 minutes. So do you think it is the soleinoid or the control board.

More than likely you have a electrical timer issue. If so you will have to have serviced.

Check this some units use a belt & pulley for spin & pump check see if you have one & if it is tight.

Also there is a drain spin solenoid on some models located in line with pump.

May also be water level switch hanging out of ajustment telling control circuit water is out. Not likely though unit should still spin.

Yes but need to have tech check 1st make sure that it is the timer.

You really do not want to throw money at it and not know for sure.It can be tested with a voltmeter not recommended for laymen very dangerous.

Frigidaire Front Load washer will not drain nor spin? Help! Washer will start and water will enter unit, however clicking occurs and no spin of clothes.

Hello,

Remove any kinks in the drain hose. Ensure that the washer is not sitting on the hose.

Inspect the household drain. Remove clogs, if possible. Call a plumber if you cannot remove the clogs.

Check the drain and make sure there is an air gap between the hose and drain. An air gap is necessary to prevent the drain hose from siphoning water.

Clean the pump filter. Open the pump access door. Turn the pump filter counter-clockwise and remove it. Remove dirt and debris. Replace the filter and close the pump access door.

Rearrange the clothing in the load. An unbalanced load can prevent the washer from spinning or draining.

Allow the washer to cool down for two hours. If the washer overheats, it will stop the motor and cool down before restarting.

Close the door completely. The washer will not operate if the door is not securely closed.

I hope the above helps.

Good luck.

All the sudden our frigidaire front load washer will not spin, what should I do

typical problem for front load washer is that it stops when it comes to a rinse or spin cycle.there is something blocking the drain pump.in order to drain all the water out of the washer the best way is to use a wet dry shop vac.
attach the vaccum to the end of the drain hose and remove all the water.
once the water is removed the door should unlock.then you can access the drain pump from either the front or rear panel depending on the model you have.some models will have a access panel on the front to check to drain pump however if you do not see anything in the pump.
then the obstruction is in the part of the drain hose that leads from the bottom of the tub into the drain pump.if there is no obstruction found then you need to check the wiring and make sure it is securely attach.
last thing when all else fails replace the drain pump. There times the door lock mechanism has failed

Fridgidaire Gallery Series Front Load washer won't drain or spin

It sounds like there may be 2 things wrong. If the drier is not draining then the pump is clogged. Remove the drain hoses and check the pump(IMPORTANT!!!!Before you remove the hoses get a pan to put under the hoses. Alot of water will go on the if you do not do this...)The pump most likely has a coin in it.
The klunk you heard... If the drum spins and seems to be out of balance. If could be your rear bearing or your spider bracket.

Front load washing machine is making a grinding noise when it is supposed to spin. the water didn't drain either

You need to clean the hose that drains the water. The water needs to drain completely for a good spin.

Frigidaire front load washer won't drain or spin

This often is a drain hose that is too low or a drain hose that has been pushed too far down inside the stand pipe....the water is actually siphoning out of the washer. Do not "seal" the drain hose to the house plumbing pipe, this will also allow the water to be siphoned out.

Frigidaire front load washer no spin

sounds as if theres something stuck in your drain pump, youll need to remove the lower acess panel(2 screws across the bottom front of unit) you'll see teh pump in the rigth hand corner. i would remove as much water as possible before trying to remove the hose to the pump or you will get soaking wetaferer removig the hose youll be able tro see what trapped in oyu pump preventing free draining.. VERY common problem.DISCONNECT POWER THE DRAIN PUMP IS ALWAYS LIVE!!!!!!!!

Frigidaire front washer has power but won't fill up, drain or go through correct cycles

You'll very likely have something caught in your drain pump. First set the washer to drain and spin. If you hear a hum or grinding noise and the water in the tub isn't draining or it's draining slowly you have something in the pump. If you take the rear panel off you'll reveal the drain pump at the right front corner or maybe middle on this model. if you empty all the water from your machine you can take off the spring clamp (this can be tricky) attaching the thick rubber hose from your tub to your drain pump. (you may want to have some old towels ready) With this off you can feel around for what's blocking the drain pump's impeller. You may want to take the screws out that secure the drain pump to the base and the other spring clamp that attaches the drain hose to the drain pump. Good luck!
