This isn't a clarification request, but it certainly isn't a solution either!

I think I'm not going to be much help, and have to suggest you seek professional help from someone who can actually look at the machine. There are several possible causes of the problem, ranging from a simple break in the cable (most common close to the plug or close to the machine) to a switch malfunction to... and it's impossible to know without seeing the machine and testing it. Sorry, and Good Luck!

What machine is it? What do you mean "no power to unit"? How do you know that? Please give more details, and I'll try to help? It may also help to know what country you're in.

Please advise brand. Some vacuums have switches that become defective. I suggest using a VOM (Volt/Ohm/Meter) and follow the current into the vacuum. If it come to the switch, but not out of the switch - replace switch. Make sure cord is not frayed with a broken wire inside. Again the volt meter will ferret that out. If the motor has motor brushes one could be sticking or worn - replace.

If you are not comfortable working with electricity, please consult a reliable repair man

Sounds like it's overheating and tripping the thermal breaker. The motor housing should have some ventilation (cooling) ports or slots. Inspect them carefully and remove any clogs and debris you find.

Lack of suction at power unit

Check that the Handle has a slider to adjust air flow, Electrolux Vac's arent really designed for carpet cleaning, check hose for breaks or cuts and everything is secure, while its on run your hands all over the hose and vac to locate any air flow that should not be.

Let me know.

Main brushhead on dc35 has been replaced but still doesn't spin, problem possibly in connector?

Someone who knows how to use a multimeter can determine whether the power supply is at fault. There may be power getting to the connectors but not from the connectors to the head. Also, the connectors might be at fault.

Loss of suction power & exhaust coming out of vents beneath exhaust port w/ barely/if any air pressure out of port itsef.

You should find your user manual, look up the phone number for Shop Vac's customer service and call them. They will be very helpful and with the unit being no older than that, it should still be in warranty. They will probably have you send it back and will possibly just send you a whole new unit.

The water is not coming out to clean the floor

Your unit uses water, correct? I have a Proheat 2X and it wouldn't dispense water. I tried the Water Rinse setting and found water came out and was suctioned properly, but on the Light Clean, Normal Clean, and Heavy Traffic settings, the unit failed to do anything. Problem may be with leaving the soap dispenser in-place, which might scum up the tubing.

SO, an alternative to throwing out my unit and buying somethign else was to put one capful of the Bissell soap in the water resevoir and keep the unit on Water Rinse. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY NOW. Don't know if this will help, but at least I didn't have to buy a new unit. Rinse everything after using and there's been no problem.

sounds like it has a clog somewhere in the system, try cleaning the entire system . Clean from where the dirt draws in the entire way to where the dirt goes into the cannister

Rainbow e series musty odor

The unit and the nozzle have to be taken apart and cleaned. You almost for sure will need a new HEPA and possibly even the motor cooling filter. There is a lot of dust inside that got moist (moisture in the air, vacuuming wet carpet, maybe you have pets or everything together)

It will require a bit more advanced skills but you do not have to be a vacuum repair professional to do this.
