Question about Microwave Ovens

7 Answers

My Delonghi microwave oven grill was until yesterday working perfectly well. I have checked all plugs etc. and the lights are working correctly on the machine. It has now stopped microwaving and defrosting. Help please. I regularly clean inside and it is in tip-top condition considering it is two years old.

Tried unplugging and replugging but no different. Still looks perfectly normal but nothing is happening. No heating food and not defrosting.

The Model No is AC930AMQ 900 watt.
Tried the door which seems fine and the turntable is working.

Has worked perfectly well for two years. Unfortunately seems to have died. If indeed this is a major contol board failure I expect we will have to get a new microwave

You may need a new heating element inside the microwave since you say it is not heating or defrosting anything, but all the other functions of the microwave works like the lights.

Check the fuses inside the machine. It sounds like you have a bad fuse that needs to be replaced.

You have a major control board failure.
There tends to be a relay failure on the control board or a shorted relay circuit.

Yes it is better to go with new one instead of investing money in old unit .
When you buy new microwave get a extended warranty for three years .

Hi!

Please tell me the model number of your Delonghi microwave. Is the turn tray moving. Also check the door switch of your microwave.

It's likely that some part of the microwave has gone short circuit and blown the main fuse. The fuse is a 7000 volt glass encapsulated inline fuse housed inside a tubular plastic case about 2 inches long.
Renew the fuse and switch on. Look out for anything that is not functioning and replace that part, eg, fan, light, turntable motor etc.

My de longhi ac925chs has suddenly stopped heating or defrosting but making all the right noises. The oven and grill still work ok. Is this just the fuse and if so, can i change it myself?

It's most likely a burned magnetron, and it's usually as expencive to replace than a new oven but since yours is equiped with a grill and conventional oven check the prices it could be worth changing...

DMX31 microwave does not work, grill, light, timer ok

its likley to be the magnatron burnt out, (the bit that makes it cook!)
its a very pricy part to buy and you cannot fit it yourself without putting yourself in danger doing it,, (like killing yourself!) so if you wont to get it fixed drop it into the shop or if its a fuw years old or more its a better bet to just buy a new one

Microwave not working

Magnetron may have died or internal fuse may have blown. Its could be all sorts of things.
May be time to buy a new one!

DO NOT TAKE OFF THE COVER YOUR SELVES, AS THEY MAY BE ELETRIC CHARGE STILL PRESANT EVEN WITH THE PLUG DISSCONNECTED

Microwave works perfectly but does not heat

Sadly your microwave has done it's last cooking. The mechanism you need to make it cook again would cost you more than a replacement microwave.

Where is the 10 amp fuse on my delonghi micro/combo/grill please

Hi, I take it that this is a combi microwave? Some of these have settings on the front to microwave/grill/etc... so make sure its on the right one first!!
If you have selected the correct one then the m/wave does not work it could be several things!
Microwaves run to earth and need diodes to do this if these break down it will not m/wave! It could also be a internal fuse? ( but very unlikley if everything else works) Then you have the Mag or transformer which could be down to! M/waves run on a high power side and a low power side. The low power will not hurt you to much but the high power side will. My advice to uou is not to touch as it could be fatal as these things carry a high charge even when they are unplugged!

DeLonghi combined microwave/grill/oven.

Found this posted in GE instead of DeLonghi but the basics are the same.

You say it stopped working - you mean it runs but doesn't heat?
