Re: paper not feeding
This could be caused by several parts, the most likely is the paper eject sensor lever & spring being out of position. Get a stiff piece of A4 card such as the backing from a note pad. Make sure the print head is in the parked position (fully right). Position card in the feed hopper and push through the feed mech. Open the top and watch for the card to come through the printer. This should realign the lever and also clear any obstructions in the paper path. Always try to remove paper jams in the direction of the paper feed, pulling backwards can damage levers etc.

check the wheels that pick it from the tray. If they feel smooth, try to put some tape on them and rip it back off. This cleans the wheels. Also try a new pack of paper and check if it\'s set to plain paper and not to heavier or coated paper
My work-around for this problem is to feed paper in manually through the front.
I turn the printer off and make sure all paper is out of the printer.
When you turn the printer on - and the blue light stays lit (if it doesn't turn it off and wait - I've had to wait quite some time sometimes).. then manually feed 1 sheet of paper in the manual feed tray at the front.
When the paper is inserted... you should be fine to print - and keep feeding paper in until you get your job. If you miss - you might need to hit the "continue" (triangle button)..
I've been trying to find out why mine locks up - and why it keeps jamming - but this is a tried and proven menthod - althought it is annoying it might help you for now..
IP4700 series has 2-way paper feeding. Please check you paper feeding from bottom cassette or rear auto feed!
Before perform the printing job, you may notice on your printer right side can select paper feed from rear or bottom.
It does stand for Manual Paper Feed. On this printer, that's on the front of the unit, above the paper trays.
Once your PC has sent a print job with the paper-select set to "Manual Paper Feed" the printer will not do anything until it's processed this job. The easiest way to do this is to put paper into the MPF and let it print, but at some point you're going to want to fix your PC so it doesn't send MPF print jobs anymore.
To do this, open your Printer Properties and select the default paper tray instead of the Manual Feed.
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud
This usually means a print job is stuck in the queue that was set to "manual feed" or to a different paper size, such as legal. Add paper to the front manual feed and press "Go". If this is the problem, the stuck document will begin printing from the manual tray.
To clear the problem without printing from the manual feed, cancel all jobs on the printer, delete any jobs out of the Windows print queue and restart the computer.
Clean the Feed Roller In the middle of the printer. Take the paper tray out- you will see the roller in the middle. Send a print job with paper tray removed. Press the black thing to fool the printer that it has paper. You will see the feed roller move. When it is in the position you want to clean- open the toner door and it will stop moving so you can clean it. Isopropyl alcohol and LINT FREE CLOG.
