Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Was able to use printer "wirelessly", now must use USB cable

Prior to move was able to use printer wirelessly with my computer (Vista operating system). If I now try to print without having an USB cable attached, the printer goes into limbo and on control panel, printer shows "Error". Would like to go back to wireless mode since that is one less cable attached to CPU.

First of all check whether the printer is on a network or not by printing a network confirguration page..to print a network confirguration..1.press the setup button..2.scroll down to option to network press OK..3. then it says view network settings press OK..4. then it says print network confirguration page..the page that prints you will see IP Address of the printer..
now come to the computer..open command prompt..type PING and then the IP address of the printer..if you get a message packets sent=4, recieved=4 ,lost=0 then it is on a network..otherwise turn off the printer computer and the router..wait for 5mins and then turn on the router wait for 3mins then the printer wait for 3mins..and then the computer..then try to PING..
and go to the printers folder you would see the icon of the printer..right click on it go to properties..and in the properties screen you would see a tab which says ports..under ports check for which option does the printer is been check..if it is checked for USB then the printer will not print..if it is checked for TCP/IP then it is fine..
if it is checked for USB then you need to do add a device by inserting the software CD..if it says TCP/IP then got to the setup folder in the Software CD..you would see a folder UTIL..open that then you would see CCC..open that then you need to select uninstall_L2..once the uninstallation is complete..restart the computer..and then start the installation.printer would be detected on a network..installation would be successfull..then try printing a test page..that would print

Lexmark X4550 not printing in Vista can't enable bi-directional

"Bi Directional Printing" is a statement of Parallel Port printing. Are you connected from your PC to the Printer via the parallel port?\

Did you disconnect the USB cable form the PC and then delete the current driver prior to installing the Win 7 driver?

Chek that your printer's internal parts are correctly placed and without error in connection. I think it will help.

I have just got a new HP wireless printer, i have vista on my laptop and even though it said installation was complete it says error when i try and print and says printer offline. its a hp j4680

I had a similar problem, and after spending several hours on the phone with an HP tech yesterday, reinstalling the drivers over and over, we ended up manually creating a port with the printers IP address. Under "printers," right click on the 4680. Go to "properties," the "ports." We added a port, and named it the IP address. Then I could print. I STILL CANNOT SCAN, however!

I also have Vista.

I have hp 2015 lazer printer but it is not woking with Microsoft Vista operating system

Does Vista see the printer? Try this if you are hooking the printer up with USB. Disconnect the printer form computer. Reboot the computer. After computer is up all the way, reconnect the USB cable to computer. Vista shoud tell you it found a new device. If it does follow the instructions on the screen..If it doesn't, then either the printer interface, cable, or USB port is bad.

Printing from my laptop

I would need more information to help you with this problem. Do you have the correct and up-to-date Canon drivers installed in your laptop? Is the Canon operating as a wireless unit, or is it connected to the computer via USB cable? If wireless, is the Canon setup to operate wirelessly? If on a USB cable, is the USB port properly configured? Is the USB cable plugged in at both ends? The easiest thing to try is to go to:www.usa.canon.com. You can find downloadable drivers, installation instructions, and other documentation, free. The Canon drivers use an INSTALLATION WIZARD program to guide you through the printer set-up process.

Communication problem with notebook/printer

You've encountered 1 of the many issues with Vista. The OS is so gargantuan that Microsoft had to ax many of the drivers that were included with XP.

http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,204816596_1019285789_0_en,00.html

Copy & paste the above URL into your web browser & that will take you right to the driver download page. Select the red highlighted "Driver Download" for the 1200 series printers. This will send you to the Operating System selection page. Once selected you'll see the red highlighted .exe file. Select "download now". You should see a pop-up asking you to save the file. I like to send downloads to the desktop to facilitate installation of the software. You can later drag & drop it into whatever folder you like.

Make sure to remove the XP drivers before installing the Vista drivers. Also remember to unplug the USB cable from the printer prior to installing the Vista drivers. The installation software will prompt you when to re-install the USB cable.

Good luck.

Epson cx4800 and windows vista

The most likely causes are that you hooked the printer up prior to installing the software, the printer is defective, the USB hub has too many resource heavy things plugged into it, the usb port is corrupt, or the USB cable is defective. The first two are the most common causes.
