I suspect that there is an internal problem. These Sony's will go into stand-by mode when there is no input signal for 10-15 min.
There could be a bad connection or a bad component (transistor or capicator) in the circuit that senses the input signal.

You can try to do a factory reset (you will lose all presets, tuner and settings) But I don't think it will fix it (then again I've been wrong more times than I like to admitt)

To reset:

  1. turn off
  2. Turn back on While pushing down - dolby NR, stop and disc 7 buttons
Best of Luck

I need the wires to conect two speakers sony sa-va100r

Which two speakers?

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sony-SA-VA100-Speaker-Systems-manual/id/22986ci669/t/2/

The speakers themselves appear to use standard spealer wire with bare ends. Just get a roll of lamp cord at the hardware store and cut it to the length you need.

Between the two front speakers they require a standard RCA stereo audio cable.

If you're needing the flat cable the link above is a breakdown of the various components. Perhaps you could contact them and describe which 'wire' you need.

Some other possibilities...

1-777-117-11 CORD (WITH CONNECTOR)(15P)

Sony SA-VA 100 won't turn on

You can try a factory reset.

Push and hold down Dolby NR, stop and disc 7 buttons, then push power.

Otherwise it looks like $60 to $100 repair bill. These are not the most repair freindly units.

Good Luck.

Help with Sony SA-VA100, No Sound!!!

Your best bet is to actaully purchase a better CD player, which sucks because it sounds like the one that Sony sent you in the VIAO system is defective. I would contact the merchant that you purchased the system from and demand them to replace the defective drive.

I hope this helps.
